So I had very high hopes for this place but was very disappointed, let's start with the wait time, placed the order online and was suppose to be done by 8:07, I walked in at 8:10 and was told my food was still being put together which I figured because they did seem busy but I had to wait and additional 30 minutes to get my food during which time I witnessed a female manager handle a situation with a pool table taking people's quarters very poorly with absolutely no care in the world, she actually told the 2 gentleman that they have no key to get the money back and she basically could do nothing for them and had someone put a "play at own risk machine eats quarters" sign up instead of just shutting them down to avoid further problems and at one point they held a team meeting on the floor slowing service more. Bartender did stop and asked if i wanted a drink on the house for waiting so long but at that point i just wanted my food so i could leave, Now let's get to the food, I got the double cheese burger which was cold and beer battered fries which were not beer battered at all more like frozen fries with seasoning salt on them, half under cooked and half overcooked and they put brown lettice on my burger, my chili had burnt pieces if hamburger and raw hamburger in it which threw me off and it was cold, my girlfriends salmon was cold and cheese curds also cold, tater tots were over cooked along with the Buffalo chicken on top and cheese was cold and hard, still mad at the fact that i waited that long and spent close to $70 on cold food that i was told was being put together the whole time i was waiting and i was staying Two minutes down the road so no way did it all get that cold in 2 minutes, will not waste my time or money here again.

Carolina Ale House at 277 Columbiana Dr. in Columbia, SC, was an absolute delight from start to finish. We began our culinary journey with two fantastic appetizers: the beer-battered cheese curds and the Crystal Coast shrimp. The beer-battered cheese curds were a revelation. Crispy, golden, and irresistibly cheesy, they set the bar high for the rest of our meal. These curds were the perfect combination of crunchy and gooey, making them an instant favorite. On the other hand, the Crystal Coast shrimp was fresh and flavorful. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, and served with just the right amount of seasoning to highlight their natural taste. These appetizers were a testament to the culinary excellence at Carolina Ale House. The quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation shone through in every bite. We knew we were in for a treat, and the rest of our meal did not disappoint. Our experience was made even more enjoyable by the attentive and friendly staff, who ensured that we had everything we needed. The ambiance was welcoming, and we felt right at home. Carolina Ale House exceeded our expectations with its delectable appetizers, warm service, and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of cheese curds, shrimp, or any other dish on their menu, this place is a must-visit.

Unfortunately, I cannot leave a review on the actual business. However, this review is about the manager. We (a party of 4) came in about 230pm to shoot pool and have a late lunch today. After waiting about 10 minutes at the bar, which was not crowded, my husband whistled a dollar bill to get the attention of anyone to serve us. The bartender finally came over and took money for a couple of margaritas while the other 3 of us put money in a pool table. The cue ball was no where to be found so I went to the bar to ask about it and the manager (older woman with glasses) was very rude to me, giving me a sour look, and then refunded my husband's money and told him he needed to leave. After whistling. One time. To get attention. That's cool, we will never give this location our business. The one in Summerville is much more friendly and professional. We still had an awesome day, going to the Liberty Taphouse on the lake! MUCH better atmosphere and service! We had a fantastic time and spent almost $300, on tip and drinks and food! See pic included! ❤️ Too bad this place has such terrible service, but now we know where NOT to go for a good time!

Never again, they just lost me as a customer forever. Be aware and check your invoice before paying!!! When the waitress came to give me my bill, it was in one of those electronic pad and not printed, the waitress hold it in her hands the whole time and the only thing I could see was the total price, the tip section and where I have to sign. I never saw the items that were charged but I thought that it was a bit expensive for what the 3 of us ate. Therefore, I clicked on print receipt so I can see the details of our invoice. After waiting a good 20 minutes, the waitress came back and told me that the transaction was not completed, that the invoice was still opened, again showing me only the price but I’ve noticed that this time it was in the seventy’s and no longer in the nineties. So I told her that she made me paid previously for someone else order obviously because It was not the same amount, I looked at my credit card on my phone and the charge was showing on my credit card. She left saying she will be back and after another 20 minutes of waiting, I’ve finally decided to get up and see what was going on. The waitress was at a POS station with her manager that was trying to delete items out of an order. She didn’t know who I was and she was surprised that I was the customer of the invoice because the waitress told her I left! What?? No I didn’t leave and I was the one who hat paid someone else higher invoice because of a waitress mistake. The manager told me that she deleted the invoice and I would not have a charge and that I need to pay my invoice. I told I have no problem with that but first please issue a refund on my credit card because the way she did it, I would not receive any credit. I told her that I have businesses and it’s not the way that POS systems works, unfortunately I would not pay again without seeing a credit. Then who I think was the owner, came and was frustrated because he was asking the manager to come and see him but she answered that she was busy trying to resolve an issue. When he approached us, 1st he never asked me my version of the event, he had no clue how long I’ve been patiently waiting and he just pulled his manager aside to ask her version and told me to go sit down. I was completely ignored by him, no one ever apologized for their big mistake, nor the owner, manager or waitress. After another 10 minutes, the owner finally came with a paper copy that a credit has been issued on my credit card and finally gave me my original invoice after more than 50 minutes waiting to finally be able to go, no apologies, not even a $5 discount for all the inconveniences their mistake and ignorance caused us. If I would not owned businesses and not know how POS works, I would have paid over $200 because the manager didn’t know how to correct the transaction. Worst customer service, I have ever experienced. They just lost me and all my friends. Check your invoice at that place please, it was very fishy from the beginning when the waitress told her manager that...

On March 29th around 10:00pm I came to eat at Carolina Ale House with friends and family I had visiting from California. Per usual we were given an estimated wait time of 45minutes, which we did not mind waiting due to the fact that we have eaten here frequently over the years. When seated, we did have to wait 5 minutes before our server came to take our drink orders, and for some reason only order half of our party food(which was not submitted to the kitchen). Our server later came back 10 minutes later to take the order again for the people she didn’t take and retake for the people who had already order, which confused us, we were not aware till that moment that she had taken their order prior and had taken it again. (we gave her the benefit of doubt, as 6 of us out of 10 people attending, have worked in the food industry in restaurants , bakery, retail, and own business in similar fields. We understood that sometimes people do mess up or are need to repeat things to make sure.) Nevertheless, we were barely checked up on, and when our food came out , 3 people of our party did not receive there food, when the server finally came back 5 minutes later, we informed her we were missing food. She claimed that the food was still in the airfryer and should come out shortly. Another 5 minutes goes by and she comes back to inform us that she went to talk to the kitchen about the missing food and that they would not listen to her and they were not going to make the food. Therefore she said “ because they wont listen to me, I can’t bring you the food.” Which made things even more confusing . In our minds we might’ve understood that she forget to place the order, even though she took it down 2 times, but claiming that the kitchen was not going to make it because they did not want did not make sense. Our party then receives our bills, and was attempting to give the charge us for the food that was not received. Finally we had enough, a portion our party did not eat, we waited a very long time, we received extremely poor service , and it did not meet our the standard, we asked to speak to a manager (Andrew, if that is his name because they did not want to give me their name , order bald white male with a dark beard) and informed him of everything that had happen. We were still being charged the 20% add tip ( which we normally do not mind , and we always tip more based off of service) and felt that we should have not been charged for added tip cause the service was awful, food was not received and the confusion of everything. The Manager claimed due to cooperate policy he could not do anything, and could not remove the added tip , and if I had a complain to follow up as a review as his hands were tied and was not allowed to do anything. Respectfully , it was a bunch of bullshit. Here I am now writing this review for the horrible service I received and poor experience myself, my wife, my friends, and my family visiting from...

I do not recommend eating at carolina ale house. Please read my experience. My husband and I decided to go to Carolina ale house for a late night meal. As soon as we walked in a red headed lady with a blue bow in her hair and black outfit looked up at us as if she was waiting for us to explain why we were there. I disregarded the attitude and I simply stated we wanted a booth for 2. She asked another girl to seat us and we were brought to our booth. The service  experience with our waitress was pleasent. Suddenly, I hear on the further left of the restaurant a disgruntled guest. It was a fellow black woman. She was upset that they could not serve her food, only drinks because of short staff. The waitresses were mumbling near our table about how she should leave. They eventually did tell her to leave. The black woman and her friend were walking out. She was visibly upset but quiet. I started hearing a man's voice saying, "Goodbye,Goodbye, get out of here, Goodbye, byebye,". I looked over and it was a white guy at the bar. He continued saying goodbye and she continued walking towards the door. I thought maybe that's the end of this interaction. But I was wrong. He gets up and comes from around the bar. He starts running towards the door where the black woman was at. Our waitress had to not only hold him back but take him to the otherside of the building. We realized the man also works here. Now, do you think it is right for a man to run towards a woman... a woman who is also walking away? We were very upset at not just the fact that a man attempted to assault a woman. But a white man attempted to assault a black woman. We told our waitress how wrong and racist this was. She stated " He only reacted that way because we were having a hard day. He cares about the women who work here. " I stated it is NEVER okay for a man to run towards a woman! The waitress kept saying, " But I'm a woman too! And this isn't about race!". We stated back this is racist and he is still wrong! I even told her it was not about her. She simply stormed off. We left vowing to never come back. Please do not support racism or domestic violence against women. Specifically, in this case, women of color! What I witnessed is something I could never justify or support. That is the reason I do not recommend eating at...
