If I could give a -5 star, I would I booked three rooms at this hotel two of them were with my points and one I paid prior to arrival. When I checked in, it was like chaos no one knew what was going on. I was very shocked as I’ve always stayed at Marriott properties and in Aloft before, and this one did not meet my expectation, the carpets are stained, the walls are dirty. When we got to our rooms. They were all dirty. Nothing in the bathrooms worked properly, mold And bugs in the bathroom. This prompted me as I always do is check the mattresses for bedbugs. There were no bedbugs, but the mattresses were filthy. They had bodily fluids on all the mattresses. The sheets were dirty. It was after 11 pm and we had four children that were exhausted from their ball tournament so I when I went to the desk to ask to changed rooms they said they had no more rooms available. so I asked for clean sheets because ours were dirty. The supplied sheets that did not fit our beds. I immediately called the Marriott number because I knew I was not going to be able to spend two nights in this filthy place, I was told that Angie would give me a call. She would credit my Saturday night points and we had to look into getting my money back from the prepaid room. I booked at another Marriott property at 9am on Saturday morning I checked out of the hotel. The gal at the desk could not give me a receipt. They told me that I would have a receipt in my email. No one ever checked me out and it appeared that I stayed all weekend in all the rooms and I was emailed my receipt that’s a problem, I also and waiting for Angie to call me as she has had several messages. To call me. The health department needs to come in and shut this place down. Don’t stay here stay far away!!! I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I booked because all of these reviews talk about the filthy hotel mattresses and sheets, Angie I think you need to step up to the plate and do something. I am still waiting for my phone call , I am calling the health department and filing a complaint. I work in healthcare and there are laws about bodily fluid and and cleanliness. I also want to say that I am a gold elite member and I am so dissatisfied I’m not sure I’ll ever stay at a Marriott property again due to the lack of anyone doing anything about my situation. Angie, I hope you read this and I hope...
Read moreFYI- still have yet to be contacted by Management regarding the mishandling of our reservation.
We booked a room weeks in advance as we are traveling with our dogs. I checked in to the room that morning, several hours later, and minutes before arrival, I noticed that the room was canceled - unbeknownst to us. We checked all emails and the Bonvoy app double-checking all actions - we were given no notice, not a call, not an email, and no notification on the app. I called the Aloft Columbia Harbison to inquire as to why our reservation, for several days, was canceled without notice. Laura, who was working the front desk put us on hold numerous times, gave variety of excuses for the mishap, none of which were accurate or made any sense. She and Marriott have yet to detail the reasons for the unusual cancellation. Laura said the only room(s) available were currently not available due to maintenance issues, but would not detail what was “corrected” in order to accommodate us. Additionally, to make matters worse, upon arrival, Laura informed us that she canceled another person’s room to accommodate our reservation - excuse me?!?! Marriott Columbia Harbison took no responsibility for their irresponsible behaviors and poor management. Laura would not provide input from Management, as “they had left for the day”, and noted she herself was not a manager. However when she was checking us in, offered points and other misc “make ups” for their mishap; odd since she’s not a manager. When I spoke with Marriott Corp., they noted this is unlike any experience they have offered and that I have received in the last 30 years. They too found Laura’s response concerning and her actions to be irresponsible and those actions do not represent Marriott. It’s very distasteful and irresponsible to blame clients for your shortcomings and mismanagement. As my husband was parking the car, a poor woman was leaving in tears, because Laura...
Read moreThis aloft hotel was recommended by family members with pets, (we had none). The check in process was not very good and spent almost 2.75 hours with bonvoy trying to correct the booking and room type and was told we had to cancel our room and world be charged a cancellation fee. The front desk could have just booked the correct room and price but choose to have me call Bonvoy for hours on end. They only corrected the error when I opened a claim with Bonvoy and requested the hotel manager. Overall the hotel rooms are nice for the area. We did have issues with housekeeping and trying to get bedding and towels for our suite. We kept having to return to the front desk to ask for pillows, towels and blankets. The housekeeping staff seems overworked and they didn’t have clean linen ready. The food was a complete joke for what typical Bonvoy hotels offer. 1 fruit and 1 waffle or frys and a juice drink was the breakfast. They were out of food items that we had choose to pay for with the room. The saving grace for this place was the Bartender Hanna. She was very pleasant and helpful offering suggestions to make or stay more inviting. Would I recommend this hotel or stay here again? No, unless I was traveling with pets. I couldn’t even get a late check out as an elite member and kept having housekeeping knock on the doors at 950 asking when we were leaving. Isn’t normal check out at 1200? Even with the do not disturb sign the housekeepers just come in the room anyway. This could be a nice hotel I’d people cared a little more about their guest, but they all seem burned out. Skip this location and maybe try downtown aloft if your looking to let loose or book if you want to...
