Embarking on a culinary adventure right before a movie night led us to Poke Bros., a place I've heard much about but hadn't yet had the pleasure to visit. Known for its vibrant and health-conscious poke bowls, my curiosity and appetite were equally piqued. Opting for 'The Duke' with sushi rice, I was about to discover what makes Poke Bros. stand out in the increasingly popular poke bowl scene.

Wow, just wow! I brought the family here because my wife really wanted to try this new place. All I can say now is that I'm glad we came here. When you first enter, the person behind the counter kindly greets you and explains the menu and prices to you. You can select a menu item, or pick all of your dish's ingredients yourself.

I picked the rice bowl called the The Duke... And it was amazing!!! It was the perfect amount of spicy. This rice bowl had a really high quality taste and texture. I was really not expecting this kind of flavor from a casual restaurant. It definitely had a high end sushi flavor to it.

My only minor gripe is the seating arrangements. Our small 4 year old had a hard time sitting down as the stationary sitting stools are set back away from the table quite aways, leaving a decent gap between where you sit and where you eat. The seats are all wood stools so anyone with a bad back is not going to have fun sitting here, either. But, casual restaurants aren't even really known for their great seating anyway so take that for what it's worth.

Other than that, this place loses no points due to it's awesome food. The customer service here is also top notch. The person behind the counter checked on us a few times and even took our garbage for us.

The food here is delicious! The fish was super fresh and I liked having the option to add some of my favorites like seaweed salad, nori, and masago.

Unfortunately, the service was underwhelming. I mentioned that it was my first time and instead of explaining the process, the server said flatly, "look at the wall and follow the steps." Really?! That's what you say to a first time customer? Maybe the person was having a bad day. But it was a late Saturday afternoon and not busy at all. And thus, a missed opportunity to make a repeat customer. Had it not been for the poor service, I would have returned for dinner!

Nevertheless, I gave three stars because the food is a great alternative to the norm. The menu sets up endless options to create new and different meals. Everything in my bowl was fresh and delicious! I hope if I decide to return, next time, the service will be excellent, just...
