Dairy Allergy Review: I stopped by today just to check out the menu at D&Tea and see if I would have any luck finding something I could drink. I have a dairy allergy (not lactose intolerance), so bubble tea shops can be hit or miss depending on if they exclusively use powdered teas. Powdered bubble teas often use a non-dairy creamer which contains whey - a type of dairy protein.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful while I asked for more details about their menu and kindly gave me great options to try in the future.
Dairy Free Recommendations: If you’re vegan or have a dairy allergy like me, check out their green / black / oolong teas and fruit teas - and inquire about substitutions! They said they could make a dairy free version of their brown sugar milk tea using soy (and no foam) which I’m curious about.
Food Review: For today I picked up the Honey Jasmine Green tea (Rose Jasmine is also great) - which was super delicious and just the way I like it. The lychee jellies I got were tasty as well, but I also got to sample what seemed to be freshly made tapioca pearls and they were excellent! I’ll have to inquire about dairy free desserts the next time I go, but at a glance they didn’t seem to have any right now.
Hopefully the dessert menu will expand in the future since they’ve only been open for 3 weeks. But in all, I think it’ll be a great date night spot if you want to double up with bubble tea & a movie. They’re only open until 9:30pm so make sure to plan the timing well! Also be sure to sign up for their rewards if you plan to frequent a...
Read moreI used to frequent this establishment and came in three to four times a week with my gf, until I ordered a drink one day and stepped outside to smoke a cigarette and socialize with my friends for a bit. I came back in to wash my hands and use the bathroom before heading out and the lady behind the counter informed me that I couldn't just leave out and come back in to use the facilities. She told me, that next time I would have to order another drink to have access to the restroom if I step outside. I hope the $50 + we spend a week in your establishment was worth telling me I can't use the bathroom if I go outside. I still had more than half my beverage!!! I don't understand why places like this sacrifice business to keep someone from using their facilities. It can't possibly cost...
Read morei saw this place while i was in the area and it looked so interesting that i decided to stop in and try a tea. immediately as i walked in the decor and atmosphere of the place was sooo adorable and soothing, and a very kind man (i assume one of the managers or owners by the way he talked) carefully guided me thru the menu and gave me in-depth recommendations. he promptly answered my questions and encouraged me to ask more. i could tell how passionate he was about his work and how exciting it was for him to just talk about what he did. it was very informative and also very encouraging to see someone working in the service industry who actually enjoyed deeply what they were doing. we needed more unique dessert shops in the area as well besides just ice cream!...
