Don’t purchase guns here if you hope to be serviced by intelligent employees. Came here to look at a gun the other week, the employee we dealt with had little to no knowledge of the guns we were interested in. Whatever, maybe he was just having an off day. Didn’t purchase that day - just wanted to look and gain more info. Came back a few days later to purchase because they had a better price than competitors. My first issue came when they told me there would be a bundle on the gun, ammo and a holster. Ok cool. After some back and forth with their manager, the two employees finally tell me there’s no bundle, all of those things were just on sale in the same spot on the ad. Weird but ok whatever. Filling out the background check, another employee comes up and says to his coworker “make sure you save 9 of those for Sunday’s sale” I ask and he says yep they’ll be on sale. The employee we were dealing with says “y’all just wanna wait?” Implying that we’d be saving money. Hell yeah, who doesn’t wanna save $100? So we wait, only to find out that the gun is on sale, but for the same exact price as when we were there prior. Didn’t give us any discount, which I wasn’t expecting, but when you have two employees both say something will be on sale, you should honor it in some way. Customer service is everything. Oh well. I’ll be buying my guns from PSA since they have intelligent employees. Price might be higher, but at least I...
   Read morePoor experience - Went into store to purchase a treadmill (Proform Zt6) Price was going to be $599. Informed associate that I would like to purchase. The inventory said that had 3, but there were actually none in the store. The associate called the nearest store, and they did not have one either. Online option was to have it "white glove" delivered for a $120 fee. I asked if I could have it shipped to the store for pickup and was told no. So I waited two weeks..... I went online and saw that this particular trendmill was now onsale for $499 "Hot Deal". Not available online, call customer service for store availability. I called the number and the the representative and she checked the inventory of my local store, it said that they had 3. She called to confirm, and they again actually had none... She then called the nearest store, they had one floor demo model, and that if I wanted it, I need to be there before the store closed in 2 hours.
What a joke.. What kind of inventory system are they using? I was planning to use $500 worth of gift cards to get this.. Now I'll have to use them on something else... Which will be my last purchases from this poorly...
   Read moreI drove from Charleston to Columbia to pickup a grill I ordered from customer service 800 number. Everything was reviewed and I paid for my purchase. Right around $600. When I arrive at Academy, I have to wait at customer service/returns. It's my turn, the girl not very nice, you have a return? No mam, I say. I have a pickup and want to purchase these items I picked up. I never received an actual receipt for my purchase. I confirmed my email address twice with customer service on the phone. In Columbia, the email is not even close to the one given at purchase. My receipt went to a total stranger. All I could get was a pickup receipt. No amounts. Unbelievable. Then comes the loading of the grill. It's in a box thank good mess. This was a purchase for my son's special birthday. 3 men are standing there as I pull truck up. I have the spare in the back a dodge walker ranger truck. I asked if I needed to move tire as neither of the 3 seemed to be going to do it. One of the guts finally moved tire, the three loaded the grill. If it wasn't the grill that my son wanted for his 40th bday I would of told them to refund my money and shove it to the moon.
