Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbia

I stopped in tonight around 1:30 am to get some breakfast to go. Gage started to take my order and another lady told her that she had to wait on another table first. Then, she proceeded to tell me that it would be at least 30 minutes before I got my food. Gage waited on the other table and took quite awhile to get the order and drinks. Meanwhile a third lady took my order. Tables and counter were not cleared or cleaned. Servers were bitching about smoke breaks. My order got skipped over because my server was outside smoking and the other server put her orders in and not mine. Tonight was the most disorganized mess I have ever seen at wafflehouse. The redheaded cook was the only one concerned with trying to get the servers to bus the tables so the customers could sit down. The original lady who told Gage to wait on another table completely disappeared and the other cook was more concerned with his phone. I didn't get my food (a waffle and side of sausage) and leave until 2:20. The older lady who took my order when asked to bus tables literally said no I won't bus those tables. They are Gage's. The servers were acting childish and definitely not like a team. Next time I go in if they are working I will turn around and leave. After having a horrible night we all wanted waffle house cause we barely get it where we all live. The place was packed but we found a booth and had the seriously best waitress in columbia I can't wait to go back and find out her name. She was so good at take orders making us feel at home even though they were packed. Way to go kitchen staff everything was prefect to order!! The waitress seen us laughing refilled our coffee and teas and just allowed us to be us since we had seen each other in a long time. Heres where the waitress went above and beyound it was literally freezing and she seen us trying to figure out who was gonna take a picture for us. No coat she ran out and took several pictures for us. As a mom I finally have a small fraction of the family but neither me or dad was missing this once!! Way to go with the service thats for sure.. The service was by far the worst I’ve experienced in a very long time. The server never greeted us, we had to ask for menu’s as well as eating utensils then when we were given those items they weren’t properly sanitized and laid out on a unsanitary table that had not been properly wiped off from the previous customer. The server never asked if we needed refills or anything else that we might have desired. I generally always leave a tip as myself has been in the food service industry as a server and know that those tips are counted on for your daily income equalization to minimum wage however I could not with good conscience praise this server for such a poorly displayed job that she obviously did not take pride in as most server’s do. I hope this review will somehow be seen by her to help her improve on her serving skills for her...
