4G's at Columbine — Restaurant in Columbine Valley

I ordered meals from 4G’s Restaurant in Littleton through Grub Hub. I ordered three smothered bean burritos—two with red sauce, the other with green—and three tostadas. I don’t know about the green burrito, but the red ones weren’t good. The red sauce was thin and lacked flavor, as if it came from a can. The restaurant isn’t generous with the chili, so to say that their burritos are smothered is inaccurate.

The tostadas were not prepared. Instead the lettuce, cheese and beans are placed at the bottom of a square styrofoam container, and the corn tortillas (which were dry and appeared to come right out of a box) were wrapped in tin foil and—get this—were placed on top of the beans—which stuck to the foil and created a mess. 😩 Can you say Yuck three times? 4G’s: How much can a plastic container cost to hold the beans?

So I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who was very apologetic. He said that they would prepare a new order for me (including a missing item) and asked that I call Grub Hub to arrange pick up and delivery. I called Grub Hub only to discover it does not offer this service; which is unfortunate for me because I am currently home bound due to a recent knee replacement and bone fracture which occurred during surgery. (Not all orthopedic surgeons are created equal, but this is a story for another day.)

So after my complaining to GrubHub and 4G’s, I learned neither has an obligation to rectify a problem—not even GrubHub’s drivers who are 50% responsible for making sure there are no missing items in a delivery order. I’ve never had a problem with a DoorDash order and will no longer order from 4G’s. FYI: A really good Mexican Restaurant to visit is Torres Mexican Food on South Federal & Mississippi in Denver. It’s always busy but the food is delicious and worth the wait. If Torres is out of your location, try The Tamale Kitchen which operates several locations in the Denver Metro area. Best burritos in town and DoorDash delivers.

1st off, I will say that the food is 5 stars and has always been amazing, and I've been coming here for years because of the food. But in the last 2 years the service here has been horrible. I even took a 6 month break from this place and came back today only to be charged $2.25 for chips and salsa, when it clearly says on their menu that the 1st basket is free.

They had new weightstaff there this time that was very friendly and all, but their excuse was that they charge for chips and salsa before 11 AM, and I placed my order at 10:35 AM. In all the years that I've been coming here between 10 AM and 10:30 AM on Sundays, I have NEVER been charged for chips and salsa when requesting it before 11.

Also, an important note is that there is nowhere on the menu that says there is such a charge before 11 AM. It only states that the 1st basket is free and that additional refills are extra charge and says NOTHING about a pre-11 AM charge. So they're just making up costs as they go to price gouge and rip people off.

When paying my bill, I complained to the owner about being charged for this for the 1st time and told him it was ridiculous. He just shrugged his shoulders and said "well you know it's just one of those things."

No apology or anything didn't even have a rational explanation about it. Makes absolutely no sense other than to price gouge and take people for every penny they can.

The food is just too good and it's just unfortunate because I'd like to come here more often for the great food, but the manager is always a jerk and his new policy about changing extra money for stuff that is supposed to be free is ridiculous and makes me not...

Edited to review last few times, FOOD HAS GONE DOWNHILL BADLY and we keep trying it finally this last visit was the absolute worst! Green Chili topping taste like it was from a can! Chili relanis was horrendous, soggy and funky like flour dough was soggy then double wrapped with egg wrapper? Rice tasted very old, crunchy? Paid $70 for a meal I had to trash. felt like we were duped. tacos were served with toppings all separate, had to assemble ourselves, if I had wanted to prepare my own meals I certainly wouldn't have gone out to eat! Sheesh. Only improvement was the male hostess was much nicer, but I didn't come to pay for smiles, it was supposed to get a nice treat. Never,l Again. Bye bye 4 gs. Tricked me once shame on you, tricked me twice shame on me. If you like to gamble with what you eat eat here and if you like to eat good food, you honestly can cook better than that yourself at home
