The food at Bob Evans Restaurants is for the most part standard at every location. What sets a Bob Evans restaurant apart from the rest, is the service that you receive from the moment you walk in the door. The Bob Evans restaurant, number #340 on Reynoldsburg - New Albany Road in Blacklick, Ohio, distanced themselves from the rest during our visit there on the 28th of February.
I took my elderly, vision impaired Mother there for a late lunch and was greeted by a very pleasant hostess (I didn't get her name) and cashier named Aisha. Our server Schree was very pleasant and brought all of our food to the table, smiling each time and checked on us frequently to make sure we were having a pleasant meal. My mother commented that the salmon was probably the best she's had at any other Bob Evans restaurant. As we were finishing up our lunches, the cook came out to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, which is unusual but was quite refreshing. Normally we get a manager who might come around and ask how we're doing, but never the cook.
As we prepare to leave my mother indicated she needed to use the restroom and in certain situations this can be a difficult task if the bathroom is not a family restroom. As I was paying for my meal I asked the cashier Aisha, if she could help my mother to the bathroom. She finished up our transaction looked around for her manager (who just happened to be walking up to thank us for coming in) and she asked him to watch the register. Without hesitation and a smile on her face, she gingerly escorted my mother to the bathroom, helped her and brought her back out smiling and laughing. I said thank you and she politely replied "My pleasure!".
With the amount of negativity in the world today, it is refreshing to have these moments where people genuinely enjoy helping others. As we walked to the car my mom said Aisha was very sweet and very funny and that was one of the best Bob Evans that she's ever been to. We will be returning to...
Read moreYesterday I took my grandchildren along with my daughter in law to this restaurant. We had a horrible experience with the service we were given. We were seated quickly and the hostess/manager? gave us the menus. We waited for we’ll over a half an hour for someone to take our drink orders. Finally the hostess/manager came to us and apologized for making us wait and said we were overlooked. We expressed our dislike for the service we were provided. He then went to the counter and spoke to a waitress. She came to our table in a huff and said we were overlooked and we again expressed our dislike for the service. She was very rude, choppy with words and we ordered our drinks and meals. The kids noticed her tone and they began to time how long it would take. The food arrived in a timely manner, but my granddaughters ask for refills on chocolate milk and she rudely said you will have to pay for it. When the food arrived she also slapped down the bill and never ask if it was separate or all together. She never returned back to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. The kids may have wanted dessert but we were never ask. I really expected the management to take care of the bill as he was aware of the problems we had incurred during our visit but there was no offer to even give dessert on the house or to reduce the bill or to not charge us at all. He was very much aware because he kept telling e he was sorry. I guess he wasn’t sorry enough. We have visited many bob evans restaurants in the past and I have never felt the need to lodge a complaint but we were a party of 6 and it was a very horrible experience. My grandchildren were noticing as the were seating people around us how fast they were being serviced and we were being overlooked. I told the kids at one point if we had not been serviced we would walk out. They said this is a 0 Star restaurant. I would appreciate someone to reply about...
Read moreWe ordered the Thanksgiving feast this year from Bob Evans. When I walked in yesterday, there was a line of people waiting on various online orders. The manager, Scott was "helping" customers (if you want to call it that). The set up was very confusing because there was a big table off to the side that said "online orders" so some people thought they were supposed to go up and grab their orders. Several people walked in and went straight to the table or counter instead of waiting in line because they just didn't know. Instead of politely letting them know where the line was he yelled at each one to go to the end of the line; even an older woman who looked to be in her 70s. When I got up to the front I told him that I ordered a Thanksgiving feast. He rudely asked me to repeat myself so I said it again. He asked me which one I ordered and I said the one with both ham and turkey. He asked me what the total was and I told him I didn't know. He then rudely told Kasey to go get an 8 person family feast. He did not ask me my name or make sure that I paid so he really didn't know what I ordered. I was in disbelief at the way he was treating employees and customers. It was beyond just trying to get people in and out. Kasey goes and gets an 8 person feast. I had also ordered an extra pie which again....never asked my name so he didn't know. Kasey goes and gets the pie and helps me take my food out. She was so sweet and doing rather well for being ordered around by that jerk of a manager. When I got out to the car, I realized I was given the wrong meal. I actually had ordered the Premium apparently. Scott would have known this if he would have asked my name. So Kasey had to go back in two more times to bring out items that were missing. Still never made sure I paid or anything. I will never be back to this Bob Evans again. His customer service skills were appalling. It left that...
