Burger Royale — Restaurant in Columbus

Wife and I went in Friday afternoon and each got a Royale with Cheese and the duck fat fries, one regular and one Medieval Style. The burgers were cooked perfectly and everything was well seasoned. The duck fat fries, smaller cut which is perfect for a burger joint, were phenomenal with and without the Medieval sauce, which tastes like rich and hearty cheesy chili meat sauce. So that's the food part. As for the service, everyone was so warm and friendly. The way they checked in on us after we got our food and talked to us about how things were prepared, you can tell that they care about the ingredients and elevating them. They want to make food to be enjoyed, not just for the cash. And that brings me to the value. Amazing. An $8 double of this quality these days is a steal. And they did combo the fries so we got a bit of a discount on those as well. With all the fry upgrades it was just a little over $20 for two people. My only complaint is that this place should be much busier than it was. We were the only two people there for several minutes on a Friday on campus, day before a game. If you are in Columbus, you need to get to this place. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a gentleman who I think was the owner. Super friendly, told us a little about the place since we hadn’t been there before, and then proceeded to cook us one of the freshest burgers we’ve had in a long time. They reminded me of In and Out, but with their own flare. The fries were fresh, the atmosphere was very mom-and-pop, which is always the best food. He does have indoor dining, and the place was very clean. But what you really need to know is what happened while we were eating. A person came in who was obviously down on their luck, and they just asked for a water and if he had anything extra they could maybe have to eat. I watched the owner cook her up a fresh meal, gave it to her with a drink, and treated her like a regular customer. His act of kindness is the real reason for this review. This, this is the kind of business that deserves your support. There isn’t enough kindness in this world today, and he showed a true, genuine concern for those in need. I actually got to meet Michael at the campus location but, one of the owners and John is at the other location inside The Columbus Bowling Palace. Now if you ever been to California and love In-N-Out burgers, this is the place for you! Their smash burgers are great. Has a super cool Pulp Fiction vibe going on, which I love.

FYI; If you came here and the signage out front says, Apollo. Don’t worry you’re in the right place. The signs should be changed soon if not are already.
