Checkers — Restaurant in Columbus

The Checkers drive-thru restaurant at 3474 Victory Drive in Columbus, Ga. had been one of my Very Favorite fast food eateries since I discovered the place a few years ago while visiting a friend on the south side of town. My friend and I especially Loved the unique and Savory bacon-cheeseburger the drive-thru offers. Yummy!! But all good things come to an end. SMH. An unfortunate component of this Life. The food offerings are as Good as ever. But the customer service I had the Misfortune to experience last night, Feb. 22 Absolutely Sucked!! Such Rudeness. And from Management!! Some background: I texted my good friend Ellen that I intended to pick us up a few of the bacon-cheeseburgers we Love. She returned my text, urging me to Hurry Up and deliver the goods. She was Hungry!! So I drove my motorbike to the order box, turned off the loud engine and Waited. And Waited. And Waited. And Waited some more. SMH. I could see an employee at the service window 20 yards away. She was looking right at me while she spoke to another employee who was out of view somewhere in the little kitchen. I Waited some more. The woman at the window was glancing at me waiting at the order box while she continued to talk to the other employee. The woman at the window Never addressed me but, instead, continued to talk to the other employee. Finally, exasperated and thinking the order box was perhaps out of order I drove my bike to the pickup window where the woman was standing and Still Talking to the other employee. They were engaged in a rather Heated Argument. A few of the other employees stood around them, listening and laughing. I sat on my bike outside the window and Waited. And Waited. And Waited some more while the woman at the window clad in management attire Continued to argue with the other employee. SMH!! My bike motor is air-cooled, which means that it will Overheat if left idling too long in the sultry heat. I shut the engine off and Waited. Waited, and listened to the manager argue with the employee. I was Really Fuming by then!!! How Unprofessional I was thinking. And from Management!! Finally the woman shot me a glance and took my order while mumbling her resentment that I had not placed my order at the order box 20 yards to the rear. I told the woman that I had TRIED to order at the box but had been Ignored!! There were a few cars in the lane behind me by now. The manager told me, Curtly, to drive to a spot away from the window so she could serve the other customers. I complied. Then More Waiting. Again. Yep. More Waiting. Finally the woman called me to the window. I got off my bike and retrieved my order at the window. The woman appeared to be Totally Unaware of how Badly her nonchalant attitude toward the customers she's Paid to serve reflect on the Checkers fast food chain. My friend and I Finally got to munch into our burgers about 25 minutes After I had pulled up to the outside order box at Checkers. The burgers were Great!! A Lot Better Than The...

So, my wife and I thought we'd try something different for our weekly fast-food foray. We chose Checkers. Never again. I got the "Big Buford." The only thing 'big' about it is the price. It's the size of other company's sliders or kids menu burgers. The bun looked like flat-bread. The patties were cheap and thinner than the buns. I asked for extra onions, which looked appetizing on the web site...nice thick sliced onions: they were machine-chopped bits and few of them. Same with the lettuce-again, looks nothing like the web site's official pictures. Machine-chopped, little of it. The fries might have been okay, but they were stone cold. I had to nuke them. I asked for no ice: if the machines aren't cleaned properly...well, we've all seen the news. It came loaded to the top with ice. There was barely 12 ounces of fluid in the container. I can't tell you what it tasted like, because I tossed it because of the ice. The employees were rude to the extreme, it seemed a chore to take our order and every time we asked for something-like no ice, it was met with eyerolls...but they'd just chatted the heck out of the people in front of us, in the big-wheeled stereo-thumping car...I wonder...

The lady taking my order was VERY RUDE! I understand I had a large order, as I was getting food for people at my office. I ordered 3 #9's 1 number 6 A number 1 Then I paused for a second to find what I was looking for, but before I could finish my order she gave me my total. I said no hold on one second, I also need 2 chicken bite boxes and 2 small cokes. She then said "DAMN" very loudly in the speaker and told me to pull up.

I told her "I understand it's frustrating to take a large order, but you should really turn off your speaker before you start cussing" She just rolled her eyes and didn't say anything to me. She didn't speak to me at all after that, then her and the lady cooking the food kept talking back and forth looking at me with their crappy attitude!

I hope the manager or owner see all these RECENT horrible reviews about the bad customer service and fire these very rude people! There is no reason to treat any person that way, and they obviously do not value their job!
