⚠️ WARNING: Do not host an event at CBC! We had our anniversary party at CBC in June 2025. While the planning process first went smoothly and the party itself was a great night, the experience was ultimately overshadowed by nearly $1,000 in charges we believe were improperly added to our bill—and that CBC Management has refused to fully refund, despite clear prior communication and documentation (see screenshots). TLDR: We were charged for setup and extension fees we were told would be included in or contribute toward our minimum spend. Despite evidence, CBC has refused to refund the full amount. Before the Event We booked almost 10 months before and worked with the then-event manager, Christen. She was responsive, professional, and helped us plan everything to a T. We had 70 guests and it was a $2,700 minimum spend for a Saturday night. A few important agreements: We were told that if no other event was booked on the day, we could enter early to decorate. To guarantee this, we increased our minimum spend by $500 to ensure access by 4PM. We confirmed in writing that houseliquor would be used for all mixed drinks. A few months before the event, Christen left the business and we began working with 2 new staff members. Communication was slower, and we were still confirming final details the day before the event, but most things had already been settled. We asked to enter the space earlier than 4 PM—first 3 PM (we were told “happy for you to come in at 3 with no additional charge”) and then 1 PM (response: “Sure, your aunt can come in any time between 1PM and 3PM”). This was consistent with what we’d been told during the initial tour: if no other event was scheduled, access would be flexible. (Screenshots.) Day of the Event My family arrived at 1PM to decorate. The party itself was great—bartenders were kind, food was on time, and the space looked great. With ±40 minutes left, we asked whether we had met our minimum spend- if not we were going to order shots & the bartenders said we had. We paid our bill and tipped on top of the 20% already added (which we were aware & happy to do). After the Event The next day, we looked at our receipt and were shocked to see nearly $800 in extra charges labeled “Event Extension,” “Event Extra Hour Set-Up,” and “Half Hour Setup.” These charges, plus 20% gratuity, brought the total to almost $960 in unexpected fees. We immediately reached out to CBC. The manager insisted these were not “fees,” but we were still charged for them. This was confusing & directly contradicted what we had been told—that early access was fine and counted toward our spend. They also claimed our DJ stayed until 12:30 AM, despite him confirming he left at 11:45 PM. We were initially told this “could have” cost us an additional $600- and then they used this as an excuse not to refund us. When we asked for CCTV or proof, we were told to trust their version and stopped responding. After lots of back and forth, CBC refunded only $386.50. Other Issues We were charged for top-shelf liquor despite our confirmed request for house. We were billed for an extra food order- we were told had been refunded—but it never was. Final Thoughts I repeatedly asked to speak with someone other than the event manager & offered to resolve the issue over a call. We even sought legal advice when the overcharges reached nearly $1,000 and are still weighing next steps. We were genuinely excited for this event & initially very pleased with CBC, especially with the original manager and bartenders. Unfortunately, the billing issues and lack of accountability turned the evening into a stressful and frustrating aftermath. We strongly recommend reconsidering if you’re planning to host your event here. We truly wish we had chosen a venue that was more transparent and accountable in its communication and billing practices. If an owner or more senior manager at CBC would like to speak with us directly, please reach out. We’re still open to resolving this professionally.

Grab a beer but don’t eat here. Middle school lunch food at best. Pizza was awful. Poutine fries had gravy that looked like chocolate pudding. Hamburgers where just a small slider. No way worth the price. Mixed drinks were inconsistent between orders. Same drink order. Very different result. So bad. While waiting for food, the largest centipede bug attacked our booth. We all had to get up. The only saving grace was a full slice of pizza under the neighboring booth’s table that the bug found appealing. My family was laughing out loud at how bad the food was. It will forever be a running joke in my family. We will never go back. All other food options in Columbus would be better. For the price this place is should be ashamed of themselves. I wanted to love this place. Instead, I feel robbed by a bad joke. Sorry CBC, not even close to being acceptable.

Incredibly disappointing. We have been regulars at this brewpub since it opened. While there have been occasional less than great service experiences, this evening’s was shockingly bad. We think the beer at Columbus Brewing is excellent and the food is usually good to very good. Today, the service was just not service at all. As the server took our drink order, literally mid sentence, she and we were rudely interrupted by the host who proceeded to tell her she was going to be getting a very large-party table. She was clearly not happy with the fact that she would be getting a large table (nobody could blame her for this alone) and was even more taken off her game by being rudely interrupted in the middle of taking an order by the host. We ordered two beers and asked for a straw for our daughter’s water. We attempted to order an appetizer then, to get in line with the kitchen ahead of the very large party, but the server just walked away (honestly, looking very flustered by the interaction with the host). The beers came but the straw never did. And nobody came back after 20 minutes to take an appetizer or dinner order. Nobody helped the server get waters out to the large party table (she spent that entire time bringing them waters herself and never once looked over in our direction so we could get her attention). When she started taking drink orders of the very large party before even taking our appetizer order, we got up and left. It would have taken her no less than 10 minutes to take drink orders from such a large party without help. Despite having gone at least every month or two since they opened this location, we most likely won’t go back. I just wish Columbus Brewing would have reopened the original brewery taproom - it was a much better...

Service was simply non-existent. We sat at the bar and ordered a pizza to share, along with some side salads. The runner brought us our food and we did not have any silverware, or side plates for the pizza and we were brought the wrong dressing for one of the salads. When the runner asked if we needed anything else, we informed him of these outstanding items. He handed us silverware and walked away - i know he heard and acknowledged our requests, however, he passed us again and avoided making eye contact, so i guess that was the end of that. So my wife just didn't even eat her salad at all, and we made due without the plates. The bar tender made 5+ passes by us, each time I gave a polite nod, we made eye cotnact and she darted off, avoided us the remainder of our time there. Our drinks had been gone prior to our food arriving, and we finished our meal without a single sip of a drink. I certainly wanted to have a beer with my meal - this is a brewery after all, right? We didnt come just for the food. By the time our server came back around, this time to actually check on us, we had been finished with our meal for some time and when she asked if i wanted another beer. No! We couldnt wait to just leave. Felt ignored (bc we were) the entire time. Oh. Forgot to mention the food. The salad was actually pretty good, the one that was built per our order. And the margarita pizza essentially had no cheese at all. The crust was great. If it had cheese it might actually be a fully respectable zza. The atmosphere is well above par. This place has potential. I hope to update this post to five stars. Im chalking this up to them being new still, without the kinks fully worked out, at the time of...
