Creme De La Creme Catering and Diner — Restaurant in Columbus

Went Friday 4 Nov.. it was Date night for my husband & I.. greeted warmly by Ms. D she was attentive, nice and accommodating, the place was causaly decorated, warm welcome feel, it is a very small place so quickly it filled, but not uncomfortably. We ordered Fish(for him) for Me (shrimp,sausage,grits), collard greens & had to try their Signature Mac&Cheese (the secret: they put jalapeños in it) may not be everyone's cut of tea but it's tasty. The fish came out Hot & fresh(like "we" like it), the bowl of shrimp, sausages and grits would have been awesome had the Shrimp not been over cooked and there were actual grits in the bowl( hardly any in there to call a bowl). The hush puppies would have been really good if they weren't cold.The Collards "ok" nothing special, not much taste. The fish I can say shocked me.. very well seasoned fried to a golden perfection and like I said it was Hot.. The prices I felt are inflated(just because they can) not because your getting Creme De La Creme. We've had way better else where. But their efforts...

First of all... never again. I been waiting to do this review to get my thoughts together because I just can't believe it. The fact that she charged so much is why I expected so much from them. I ordered from here for father's day. Let's talk about the flavor. It was a very boring meal. The salmon had no flavor. The mac and cheese tasted like stroffers which isn't bad but you not going to pay a whole lot for it. The portions are small. This was for father's day. Men can eat ALOT. For all that money, I was expecting generous amounts of food. My mother says the mignon had no taste either. My mother loves dessert and threw the cheesecake away. That blew my mind because she never waste sweets. I should have never paid that much money for a meal I could have gotten at any regular old chain restaurant and it would have tasted better. Even the tea and lemonade tasted bad. 1 star is too...

13 dollar microwaved slop plates. This food tasted recooked. Ordered smoked turkey and was the WORST smoked turkey I've ever tasted. It was black, tasted refried and greasy. Basically recooked and nasty like 2 days old food. Non traditional mac and cheese tasted recooked too and wet. Should've saved my money and went to Zaxbys. I guarantee most of these food reviews came from a large group that was catered to and they had no choice but to cook fresh servings or a day the food was actually cooked fresh.
