Firehouse Subs Polaris Parkway — Restaurant in Columbus

I don't do reviews often. So when I do, it's because of something really good or really bad that I believe needs to be shared. I'll start by saying that the sub was amazing, as always. So good. The service was pretty good, friendly and mostly prompt. But here is the major issue. The atmosphere was embarrassing. They had the movie Training Day playing on the TV. First, it was so loud that you could barely have a conversation while eating. It was obnoxious. But I could get over that I guess. No different really then a sports bar on a weekend night. It's loud. But it's Firehouse, not a bar. But the part that really bothers me is the movie itself. Now, I love Denzel Washington. One of my favorite actors. And Training Day is a great movie. But it is a really rough, tough, foul movie. One that is best watched in a theater or your living room with mature audiences in a controlled environment. Not at a public restaurant that has families trying to eat with their grade school kids. I was embarrassed for them. The folks working were more worried about watching the movie than cooking or cleaning tables. And the moms and dad's with kids were noticeably upset with the situation. And the folks working did nothing to change the situation. They just kept watching the movie while their customers, at least 3 of which were 10 years old or younger, were subjected to foul language and violence while they tried to enjoy their meal. Terrible situation to be put in. Now, the sub was awesome. So hit the spot as always. But, it will be a long time before I go back to this location again because the atmosphere was ridiculous and rude. I love that movie, but was sad for the moms and dads that were trying to hustle thru dinner in order to get their young children out of there and away...

Stopped in around 3:45p today to cash in a T-Mobile sandwich offer. Have always respected Firehouse's first responder fundraising efforts. Girl up front who removed every crunchy bagged item from the display to reorganize didn't bother to say hello, nor did her partner at the counter. At least chip girl could offered to find me a bag if I was interested. Stood at the ORDER area until the other one made her way to the counter. Digital coupon was for a Hook and Ladder, or something like that. Ordered a self-serve soda. Would have liked some chips, but chip girl was in no hurry to stock them, and probably would have grunted in dissatisfaction. Soda machine had red liquid sprayed all over the back. Makes me wonder if the dispenser nozzle is even sanitized daily for bacteria buildup, especially after seeing that all the tables were dirty. Only 2 other tables were seated at that time. My sandwich had a square of sandwich paper between the layers of meat. Didn't realize it was there until several chews revealed its presence. Yuck! At least it wasn't hair or a glove. I told the girl who made it, but all she did was apologize. My stomach hasn't been right all day after eating there. Makes me wonder about store cleanliness behind the counter now after seeing the soda machine and dirty tables. Looks like I'm not the only one to point out how dirty the place is. One thing to have dirty seating, another to have cross contamination issues behind the counter. Hopefully management can address the cold customer service and dirty workspace that can make their customers, and not...

I'm giving 1 star overall one star for food because of the incidents that happened today. I would have given 5 stars for service but what happened today was not 100% fixed so I dropped it to 2 instead of 1 because I was also told that if I give one of the managers names that was there today my next sub is free which kind of helps.

I placed my order online. Went to go pick it up. Was ready to go but when I got back to work had noticed it was made incorrectly. Now this is a 15-minute drive I have to do as well and their phone number on anything does not work. So you cannot even call the store to let them know that your order was incorrect and if you could just get a refund instead of having to drive another 15 minutes to let them know that the order was wrong and that you would like a replacement. So when I showed up to get my replacement they did partially remake it correctly without the mayonnaise and tomato like I requested. But they forgot to add the bacon which is two more dollars that I didn't even get cuz it was messed up the first time and the second time they didn't even put it on there and they looked at the sub so either the first one didn't have it on it and I got charged for it or they just forgot to put it on my second one. Over the past 3 years I have seen lots of different employees at this location and there's just something with this location that it's just never good. Something always gets messed up and it never gets...
