I have to rate this place as just "meh". I hadn't been here in a few years and I'm not sure if it's me or them, but the experience just isn't the same as it used to be. The food was average, I felt no love in anything they cooked. Our plates came out medium warm if even that. I ordered the onion and potato hash. When I got it I barely detected any onion. For a dish that had the word onion in it I expect to be able to find or at least taste it. My husband had the killer cajun omelette and it had little flavor to it as well. I ordered hot tea and when he brought out the box of bags they all looked identical, had I not investigated further I would have missed that each bag had a different flavor despite them all being the same color packaging. A tip to the servers that they may want to point this out to their customers when bringing it out.
Service was average and not anything above the expected basics. At check out the first host was very pleasant and offered to remove the hash from our bill, the second host however was defensive and tried to tell my husband that the dish wasn't supposed to have much onion in it and that it was just their normal side potatoes (I can confirm he was right). However I don't believe you should advertise a dish as different from the others if it isn't.
I doubt we well be returning. If you're looking for fresh and healthy breakfast there are far better choices in town where the quality and the ingredients are higher. You'll most likely find us at North Star when going out for brunch...
Read moreWhew - I don’t even know where to begin. We arrived for breakfast (we had a conference at the Quest center - we stayed at Hilton and First Watch was recommended) we arrived around 8am and the bathroom was already trashed (see photos) so it clearly wasn’t tended to the night before. Was no toilet paper so I had to AiR dRy. Next was the food. I ordered the French toast, the center was runny just pure wet runny custard. So the outside was cooked but inside was not. Waitress offered to make me another order which I agreed but it didn’t come out until the rest of my coworkers had finished so I didn’t have time to eat as we were in a hurry to be at the quest by 9:30. Yes it took over an hour and a half to get orders for four people. Then my coworkers ordered potatoes, she shared while I was waiting for my food. The potatoes were hard like raw, so hard and raw they weren’t edible. My co workers order was wrong she sent it back and don’t reorder. I would never eat there nor recommend it. Waitress could’ve offered refund or done something. She acted oblivious and seemed very out of her element.
This First Watch is a disgrace - I’ve eaten at the one on High Street numerous times as well as one in Orlando and they are terrific. Top Notch. This one shows that one bad apple or one lazy employee or cook can ruin your...
Read moreWell that's the last time I will go to this location! Each time the service has been less and less desirable. While First Watch food is almost always fantastic, this time there were a few errors. I have no issue with that. Mistakes happen especially when a restaurant gets busy. They have been rare but in over the 9 years First Watch has always gone above and beyond to quickly and kindly fix any issues. The problem with this visit and while it will be our last was that serving us was clearly an inconvenience to our server. There was not one apology for either instance. Even an inkling of understanding would have helped. Honestly, if the manager had said something remotely apologetic when he brought the new eggs out or even some kind of pleasantries when he checked us out like "how was your meal?" Not just providing the total would have gone a long way to make the final experience a little better. With the construction near by making it difficult to get there and the numerous other restaurant options within a mile, I will go somewhere else that can provide a better customer service experience and want us to come there and feel welcome, rather than unwelcome. I extremely disappointed and truly hope the level of service that is usually First Watch...
