Cabinet Order and Delivery gone terribly wrong... By far the worst experience I've ever had ordering cabinets. We bought 2 cabinets.. not even a full kitchen and paid the $100 flat fee for delivery. We added on a couple more items, small ones that were not in stock and also a kitchen table. We received the delivery when expected, the table top was damaged as the delivery guy was moving it off the truck so they took that back, had to call the delivery number to get a new table top shipped, the second was delivered by FedEx and was in worse condition that the first one. There were also missing items from the order that needed to be shipped on top of the cabinets being the wrong color than ordered. After spending another hour or two on the phone with Ikea, I had to take pictures of all the wrong color cabinets and send them to them. They set up delivery on the missing items and correct cabinets for Dec. 7th. No one showed on the 7th, received an email that the items could not be delivered. I am currently on the phone with Ikea trying to figure it all out as I do not have my correct cabinets that I ordered on November 12th or the missing items. I still have the wrong cabinets in my possession, and the lady on the phone just told me that the order number I gave her was cancelled, which is all the items I need, so I told her that there were too many issues here and I needed her to help me get through them all today... then phone hung up. I'm about to drive all this stuff back to Ikea myself and get cabinets from elsewhere... This is the worst experience I've ever had and would never recommend anyone get cabinets from them, or get anything delivered. Buyer Beware. It is now December 21st and I am still dealing with getting my items I paid for.
Update: store has not reached out about issues... pickup supposed to be at 11am today, for all items and just coming for the table for the 3rd time. Pickup/delivery has failed to show up twice. I am still missing the correct cabinets.
Update #2: It is now January 18th... I got the fronts of the cabinets delivered today. Saw that the kickplate was the same blue that was the wrong color the first time around, opened on of the cabinet fronts and it was the same wrong color. I refused the order and now have to figure out different cabinets on this project. My order date was 11/12/21... two months later I still have the wrong items. How hard is it to deliver dark grey cabinets???
Summing it up... The store and people there are great, the delivery guys are great, even if one guy who accidently dropped a table and damaged it, still super nice, main customer service people are super nice but not super helpful I would deal with store directly if I were you. The process they have for getting cabinets (whoever is in charge of the warehouse) and the time it takes to resolve issues is atrocious. I will never do this process again and would caution anyone thinking of buying...
Read moreIkea itself was great as usual. I went in the mid-afternoon on a Tuesday and was surprised at the crowd.
I took away a 2 stars because my check-out experience was awful.
The cashier was rough with my items.
She asked for my #family card. I asked if it is possible to look it up by my telephone number. She said NO.
I tried to explain that somehow, over the years, I have 2 cards, and so I needed the purchase to be on the newer one and be accounted for.
Instead of even considering, she insisted that it was on my phone. I told her I could access that one, but it is not the most recent.
This was all the while having to get her attention after each & every response!
I told her that it is possible to look it up by my telephone number.
She huffed & puffed, un-crossed her arms, stood up from her leaning on the conveyor belt, with her back turned, & finally asked for my number.
My card number immediately popped up! She seemed angry instead of pleasantly surprised.
Then she, again, literally did not listen when I asked which way to insert/swipe my card.
After 3 times trying to get an answer, she flipped her hand as if to say "whatever"...
I inserted my card. Nothing happened. All the while, she has returned to the crossed-arm-leaning-with-her-back-turned posture!
2 times I pointed out that nothing was happening on the screen. She said, "Just wait".. She finally looked at her screen and declared I did it wrong because it had timed out.
By then, I was getting pretty irritated but not as much as the folks behind me in line.
That time, the transaction took just 4 seconds. She rolled her eyes as she shoved the receipt in my direction.
I began to attempt to load my items into my cart. Here's where it got really tricky...
I asked her to push the items down because I could not reach them. She pushed them a bit.
I picked up what I could. I asked her THREE more times, explaining that I LITERALLY could not reach them because of my limited mobility stemming from my disability.
Yes, I said I was disabled. With obvious medical equipment.
Again, NOT even trying to listen or pay attention, she would push the items just a bit.
By now, I'm am nearly in tears because I am PHYSICALLY DEMONSTRATING that I can NOT gather my items!
I'm EXPLAINING REPEATEDLY that I am disabled and that I simply needed her to push the items to the end of the welled area.
Again, she is now seemingly delighted with her current customer and/or delighted in ignoring me.
Only when the customer behind me items were becoming mixed with mine did she finally, with an obviously perturbed manner, finish shoving (including my glass items) within my reach.
I finally got my items into my cart & headed out the door, too exhausted to ask her for her manager.
Next time, I'll drive the 2 hours to PA rather than the 2+ hours drive from Cleveland to Columbus. Paying tolls will be worth it to not have to go through that...
Read moreI wanted to rate this a 4 because I drove 2 hours away to replace a $15 part thatâs broken twice since I got it.
The blanket I impulsively picked up cost $30, how does the item I bet my whole sleeping experience on only cost $15? This blanket cost 30? But this bar that dictates my restfulness for the whole night only cost 15? This cost less? How? This doesnât make sense to me.
AnywayâŚ
the customer service was WAY too good. Shout out to Robin! First off I hate coming to IKEA because itâs so big especially cuz it sets off my anxiety. I especially hate the furniture section. So I come in 8:30p, 30 minutes before closing. I hate doing that, but itâs been a long day and I need to sleep and I need this piece. So Iâm in the furniture section anxiously, hoping an employee walks by. An older women immediately appears. She had white hair, SUPER helpful. The type that works there cuz her social security ainât enough and she needs to supplement her income. I was like âmaaan, this baby boomer doesnât know enough about her craft. Sheâs just here cuz she needs money.â Boy was I wrong, I asked her about the part showing her from my phone. She knew exactly where I needed to be and where the items were without double checking some store inventory. Man, she knew her inventory! Thank God! I get what I need and head to check out. Scan an item and boom an error pops up âthis piece is a multi piece do you have all your items?â Maaan, how many pieces is in this? Itâs part of a bed set but I just need this one piece. Robin comes over, attentive, alert, ready to work. I was floored cuz she looks like the type thatâs working there cuz her retirement ainât enough and life is expensive. Also, she gave off, ââmy feet hurt and itâs been a long day and I canât bend down vibesâ. Nope! Not Robin. She bent over quick, said no you got the wrong part you need another piece and hereâs why. She educated me, instructed me, quickly, fastly and informatively. She showed me the labels and what I need to get and off I went. Got my 2nd piece headed back to check out and hopped back in line, but Robinâs line. It was a self checkout, definitely not a line, but I wanted Robin to take care of me cuz I knew she knew what she was talking about. I scan my items and asked a question âhey Robin, do you sell frozen meatballs? The food court is closed and my guy said I gotta try the Swedish meatballsâ she reacted without hesitancy and asked âwhich meatballs?â, I said âSwedishâ, she went and got me 2 bags - 1 chicken and 1 beef. I asked which one was better and confidently she said beef. She educated me about the 2nd floor food court. She told me to come back and try the meatballs next time. Iâll be back, for the meatballs and Robinâs great energetic service. Pay that woman more and give all your employees free food, IKEA. Can management hook my girl Robin up...
