I stopped in yesterday-- November 22 in the year of our Lord 2024-- to get an iced coffee. I had already been on the road for about four hours at this point, with seven hours ahead of me, and I needed cheap caffeine, so I stopped here.
While waiting for my order, a guy came in, clutching something wrapped in tinfoil, and forced it in the face of the employee behind the counter. "You got my order wrong!"
The employee politely asked what the problem was. The customer explained that his triple cheeseburger has a mere two slices of cheese, when he expected three.
As someone who has never ordered a triple cheeseburger, I'll admit his complaint made some sense. Not enough to come stomping back into a McDonalds to make a scene, but I could see his logic. The young man behind the counter replied, "Yes, I see what you mean. However, that is actually how we make it, because the McDonald's recipe calls for only two slices." I understood this logic as well. Sure, one might assume three slices to be the norm, but when Mickey-D's makes a rule, it's best to tip your hat and call it. The customer did not share this thought process.
He proceeded to quiz the employee on proper cheeseburger technique. "What is a cheeseburger?" "...A burger with cheese?" "Right. So then a double cheeseburger should be double that." "Correct. Our double cheeseburger has two patties and two--" "So then a TRIPLE cheeseburger should be triple that!" "Sir, I understand your--" "Triple is three!" "Yes, I understand, but sir, this is the McDonald's recipe--"
The guy stormed out.
To the employee who dealt with this difficult man, you deserve a raise. It had been a very long day and this gave me a giggle.
To the rude customer, I hope this cheese-deficiency made your day bad.
To all future customers, know that-- when attaining extra cheese-- asking nicely has a statistically better success rate than harassing the workers.
(My iced coffee was great, no cheese-related...
Read moreUpdating my review due to my experience this past Sunday 3/7/2021. I had forgotten my wallet and my kids were hungry, so we ordered on the mobile app. After waiting forever, our food finally came out. Wrong. All sorts of wrong. And the kids happy meal boxes were falling apart with food and stuff hanging out the bottom. The door near the mobile pickup area was locked so we had to drive around and park on the other side of the building to get in and have our order corrected. The employees were all rude. Every one of them. All had angry appearances and demeanors, the few who took time to speak to me spoke angrily, I have no idea if a manager was even present, they couldn’t get the order right to save their lives, were magically no longer selling one of the items we had paid for, couldn’t get chicken nuggets in the box to save their lives, threw food around like trash, and still never got our plain cheeseburgers right. Plain. Bun, meat, cheese. Shouldn’t be that hard. I ended up leaving with incorrect food because we had already been there over an hour at that point and my kids were in the car, hungry. As I left, one of the rude employees whom drives a maroon SUV purposely set off their car alarm and let it go off the entire time I was getting in my car, getting my kids situated and buckled back up, making sure we had correct-enough food that the kids would eat it, and waiting to pull out due to we were blocked by the drive thru line. Then I put a complaint on the McDonalds App and still have not heard back. Will be calling corporate if I can find time during their “open” hours since I work during those same hours. My kids were not happy to eat cold chewy old...
Read moreI go here all the time. Never had many problems other than forgetting sauce. I went to the drive thru today. My son was sleeping in the back. Regina was working the drive thru taking orders. She asks to take my order I asked for a 4 piece chicken nugget happy meal and she immediately cuts me off and says “Anything else?” I said “I wasn’t done.” I didn’t even get to give her my sides, sauce, or drink for the happy meal. She said “I can’t hear you!!” I then say “Well you don’t have to be rude” She said “I wasn’t I can’t hear you, have to speak up” I said “Well, you asked if I wanted anything else and I wasn’t done ordering. That’s kinda rude.” She said she didn’t say that and then said “You know what?” & refused to take my order. My son has Autism so the only texture of chicken nuggets he likes is McDonald’s. She continued to refuse to take my order. She gave me her name, said they were a franchise and there is no corporate office. I called in and left a msg for GM to call me back but after reading the reviews it looks like she doesn’t care either. It’s just sad how cruel this world is getting. I worked in food service for years and have never treated a customer that way. I understand customers can be mean and treat the workers bad too but I didn’t deserve that attitude at all. McDonald’s standards are on desperate levels these days with who they have representing their company. Franchise or not, you still have corporate rules to follow and not to mention, there’s just no humanity. I’ll travel further for better people and service.
Oh and no hat or hairnet with...
