I waited 15 minutes in line before my order was taken. Then, another 12 minutes to receive my food. We were planning on eating in the dining room before going to church. There wasn't time so, we ate as I was driving and just made it to church on time. The Drive-thru line of cars was literally wrapped around the building. The line of people waiting to order, waiting to receive what they had ordered and the Door Dash, etc was more than 20 people deep. Several of those just waiting to order were not acknowledged and just walked out. I DO NOT fault the employees who were working. It's like this across the board at all of the Columbus area McDonald's. I don't know what these folks are being paid, but it really doesn't matter if they do not have enough employees to get the job done they were hired to do. Until McDonald's in Oakbrook, Illinois takes a real good (under a microscope) look at how the franchises are doing with their CUSTOMER SERVICE, they will continue to ONLY get worse and drive (literally) their customers AWAY! I KNOW how it is supposed to be at a McDonald's. I used to work for a Corporate operated store in Stanley, Kansas (suburb of KC) as a 2nd Asst in 1998 - 2000. Working for a franchise owner cannot and, doesn't compare to working...
Read moreI'd give it ZERO stars if that were an option. We haven't been to McDonald's in years and today's experience validates why. Roadtrip so we thought get a quick breakfast. We ordered and got up to the window and the gentleman asked if we ordered oatmeal. No, we didn't. He then asked what we ordered, so we gave him the receipt. He then asked us to pull forward to wait for our order. My husband asked for the receipt back and was told "they will put it in the bag because they need it to make sure the order is correct". Our order was 4 breakfast sandwich meals and 2 breakfast sandwiches on the side. We pulled up. Waited over 10 minutes and a lady came out and said "I don't even know if this is your food" in which my husband reaponded, "well no one does because we've been waiting more than 10 min". To which she responded, "Don't get hostile with me!" Wait...what?? I rolled up my window and my husband went inside to get a refund so we could just leave and go elsewhere. The manager came out and said they don't do refunds. So we had no choice but to take the food. He brings the food back to the truck and OF COURSE the order is incomplete and wrong. Now I remember why we NEVER go...
Read moreI come to Mickey Dee's for the coffee (they will add sugar and cream to your specifications) and what "used" to be the speediest drive-thru of all the "Fast Food, Shortened Life (Dare I even call it a restaurant?) Joints." I know the food will kill you and I don't care as long I don't have wait an eternity: 1) in line 2) at the unmanned "3rd Window" 3) in the parking lot. My order was simple, coffee and a steak, egg and cheese bagel. I didn't have them modify it in any way (no special orders) and yet after taking my money and pulling up to the pick-up window, I was given option 2 or 3. Option 2 usually requires less waiting. My point is that I'm not the fat family in the mini-van. My order is simple and should not require me to wait for my food. If I wanted a lengthy, aggravating, drive-thru experience, I would go to Hardee's or Krystal. Next time I drive thru the "Golden Arches" I think I will ask what you have ready under the heat lamps in lieu of waiting. Tighten up Mickey Dee's....
