I was in the store the other day for one small item and found myself waiting in the dozen or so people deep check-out line, with two cashiers working. This time-suck is EXTREMELY frustrating.
Today, I contacted the frame shop to inquire about an in-store service that would take roughly 10 minutes to accomplish. The associate confirmed that the store DID perform the service IN-HOUSE, however, I would have to wait a minimum of two days for the return of my serviced item. Further, inquiry revealed that the associate would not/could not provide a rate nor a potential cost range for my service, based on the detailed specifications I shared over the phone.
Frustrated, I asked where I might go to get the service I wanted in a timely manner. The associate referred me to another craft shop. The competing craft shop joyously received my business, as the associate in their framing department told me the in-house could take as long as 20 minutes and asked if I could wait. She further advised me the price of the service AND shared DIY alternatives, all over the phone.
Shame on Michael's for failing to train employees to appropriately disseminate information and provide reasonable...
Read moreNice place with a large selection of pretty much everything. I shop here often and almost always find what I'm looking for. Sometimes I call first to make sure they have what I need in stock and the staff is usually very friendly. Some items are much cheaper online (etsy or e-bay) but if you can't wait for something to be shipped to you then this is definitely the best place to go for craft supplies. I rated the service as a 1 because my husband recently asked when they would have more polymer clay in stock because we needed to buy some as soon as possible. The employee he talked to said Friday. He woke up extra early on Friday to go before work and drove all the way across town and they didn't have any polymer clay. Apparently that's when their supply truck arrived, but the clay would not be on the shelves for a couple of days. Why in the world would we want to know when the truck arrives?? OF COURSE he wanted to know when he could come back to buy some. Huge waste of time because of an...
Read moreI was looking for a product. When I googled for it, it showed me 2 places that had it. I ordered it online and went to pick it up today. It was my very 1st time here. When I went in, I went to the register and asked the cashier if this is where I come to pick up my online order. She said "You didn't see it when you walked in"? I said, ma'am this is my 1st time here. I don't know your procedure. I was instructed to bring my I.D. and confirmation of the order". She then directed me where to go to retrieve my online order. I retrieved my order and went back to the counter to show my I.D. and confirmation email. She and the older lady said they didn't need to see it. By then, I was baffled and wanted to say "So I can just walk in, retrieve any package from the online/pickup orders and just leave! That makes no sense to me. The customer service is VERY POOR. They really told me to just take whatever and leave. We don't care if you're the one that purchased...
