I was a long-term guest due to home renovations and insurance referred me to several places to reside as my home was being renovated. I chose Homes2Suites because of the room being like a one-bedroom apartment living. Could not have chosen a better place to reside for several months. The room was spacious, loved the sunlight that came pouring in each morning. It was relaxing and comfortable. My friends called it my penthouse for it was on the top floor.
The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They all treated me with respect (probably because I could be there mother or grandmother). The breakfast was good when I chose to eat from the lobby. I pretty much cooked own meal when could (no full stove but tried to make it work). The young maintenance guy really came through when called.
We can't expect everything to go perfect. Staffing personnel are overworked and doing their best to make people stay as comfortable as possible. Some work harder than others and yet I appreciated them all. When you don't complain and tell them how much you appreciate their hard work many respond with a more positive attitude and sometime go the extra mile when commended.
My take is to be positive, don't complain too much. Know the schedule when they come to clean and show appreciation for the work they do. Young lady on my floor was always accommodating and gave me everything I needed in a very timely manner. She was so hardworking. Told her she reminds me of my niece. Others were good too, but she stood out to me. (Sorry am really bad on remembering names).
The Front Desk Clerks were exceptional, especially the one who called me Mama. She helped me so much with trying to use the network. One young desk clerk came up to my room to help with a chirping smoke alarm. I will forever be grateful for her help.
It is hard dealing with so many people with different attitudes. My hat goes off to you all. Just remember we cannot please everyone. So, take comfort that there are those who do care for the work you do.
Can there be room for improvements? Yes of course! Carpet needed shampooing, getting rid of some pesty critters (I know when you have pets involved, bugs will follow - so I came prepared with my own bug spray just in case). When I did see a bug, I sprayed and let the clerk know and they right away sent someone to take care. There were a few concerns not addressed but that too was ok with me as these were minor issues, like slow drainage in face bowl.
Will I recommend the hotel? Yes indeed! I been in much worse and they were newer and more expensive. Thank you Homes2Suite staff for making my stay pleasant as I coped with my home repairs. You are valued and appreciated in my book.
But know like they say, "There's No...
Read moreWe drove in Friday evening as we had booked online due to this location being the only "4 star" hotel in the area with a premium price to match. As weary travelers we arrived and were greeted by super nice and welcoming front desk clerks. It was a promising start that quickly dissipated once we entered the King Suite we had booked. Upon entering it was noted to be cleaned in a sub-par fashion. Turned on a/c to dehumidify the room and the control panel door fell to the floor. Eh, no big deal right? Place our luggage down and proceed to the bathroom to shower. Bathroom door did not stay closed and did not lock. Hmmm. Hop into the shower and proceed to use soap and shampoo dispensers where both panels followed suit with the a/c control panel door and hit the shower floor. 5 minutes in and 3 fixtures down. One wash-cloth to be shared by a couple apparently, we made do. Finally, hop in the bed expecting that at the very minimum the mattress will be comforting after a long day's travel. As I was in mid-flight anticipating a pillow-soft landing I was quickly relieved of this brief passing thought with a sobering spine adjustment. The mattress had a north to south raised ridge that tapered off to a soft, unsupported edge. Considering that my partner is a rather large individual (ie broad) who uses greater than 3/4 of mattress real estate on a good night, I was faced with a long night of "living on the edge" of roughly 18" of mattress surface that density changed from extra firm to no support. A recipe for probable discharge from said surface if my partner changes position or challenges me for my real estate. As expected, I did not sleep. My partner apparently did just fine judging by her fluttering eyelashes and deep guttural breathing pattern. I self-ejected myself from the bed and shuffled to the bathroom (by way of microwave door left open to double as a nightlight) only to find that I was not the only one with insomnia. A fellow night owl (ie roach) was also ambling about the bathroom at this witching hour. Attempts to go to sleep were largely unsuccessful....breakfast time was met with red-rimmed eyelids, stale biscuits, and paper plates. And to leave on a positive note, the front desk staff was...
Read moreFILTHY. BEWARE. I am a Diamond Elite member with the Hilton platform. I stay in 2-4 hotels every single week and I can honestly say I am shocked that Hilton is letting a hotel like this operate under their name. I only had 10 hours to rest here, that’s it. The first room I was given was RANCID. From a glance it looked okay, but after checking the bedding, the mattress, and behind the bed I was SHOCKED. Snot, hair, crumbs, dead skin, and scum EVERYWHERE. The wall behind the bed and underneath the nightstand was splattered with a red substance that smelled very strongly of vomit. The mattress was rancid also. The underside was even worse. It’s as if they had just flipped the mattress when the staining got too bad and then allowed the same level of staining to occur on the top side! REPLACE IT!! Absolutely no liquid/bug proof protector on either the mattress or the box spring. I thought this was a requirement at Hilton hotels? In 2024 it’s inexcusable to not have them. Dust all over the carpet, the ceiling/walls are cracking, the refrigerator sounded like a gas powered generator running all night long (video included), the tile flooring is so sticky my shoes were sticking to them and the A/C unit was musty, damp, and ineffective. This was all in my first room. I got into my SECOND room and it was literally just as nasty. I have included photos from BOTH rooms. To someone who does not know what to look for this hotel can easily fool you and I genuinely believe that’s where the handful of positive reviews stem from. From a quick glance the hotel looks great outside and the lobby looks brand new. The rooms look acceptable in low light and to someone who does not check properly. I had no other choice but to try and sleep in this filthy dump. I will NEVER stay here again. Unfortunately it seemed like even with as bad as this hotel is it’s still the best Columbus has to offer. Why is it SO hard to find a clean hotel in the...
