Plaza Mexican Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Columbus

The service is very good for a campus restaurant, we went before a movie at Gateway at a less busy time on Friday at 6p and were seated with no wait. The service is friendly although they do speak Spanish (a plus given the restaurant). The drinks were fairly quick and of good volume.

The food is good but there are certainly better Mexican restaurants in Columbus particularly on the Northwest side. The table chips and salsa are yummy. The chicken in the enchiladas was overcooked and the seasoning was average. If getting enchiladas get at least 3-4. The black beans were good. We also had fried ice cream which was small but a nice treat with excellent taste, it could have benefitted from more ice cream.

The prices are excellent, we were very happy to spend $50 for two with meals, drinks, dessert, and a tip.

The atmosphere is what sets it a part as a seemingly "it" place on campus with lots of students, again fun while there who are just looking for fun conversation and a good meal.

Overall, worth a taste if you're near the area for Mexican and very good if you lower your expectations given it's campus area food. A fun date...

Food was horrible couldn't even eat the high priced chips and salsa and then we grabbed the wrong debit card asked if my wife could stay until I went to the motel and got cash they denied her to stay and wait for me to return they ended up keeping my galaxy and her iPhone on a chips and salad and she had a plate which wasn't even what she ordered then unedible in fact made us both sick later that night these guys are nothing more than gouching these college kids for what we order they hit us with a bill for 68 refused to make anything right kept our phone until I returned with the cash and still threatened to call the cops over the issue personally we should have just got up and walked out but my wife refused and it made a terrible experience with being sick afterwards and the hassle you would have to pay me a million dollars to return and I still wouldn't eat anything they prepare .The restaurant was horribly dirty the employees rude as possible poor service and we were the only table there except for a 6 party bday I wouldn't recommend it for my dog much less human consumption! Love the margs here! They may be sugary but they are also not weak! Happy hour extends to 7pm which is really nice as sometimes I dont get off work until 6! Queso and chips are also very yummy! Staff is also very friendly. The only critique I have is sometimes the service can be very slow. I think it depends on the server, because sometimes they are very on top of it and attentive and other times we have not seen our server for over an hour and have to physically track them down throughout the restaurant just to find them in the corner on their phone. I think sometimes the servers think they wont get a good tip from a younger group at a table, however, as a server myself, usually the younger people always tip 20%, as do we. Even after waiting an hour to get the bill and having to ask basically the entire staff where our server went, we all still tipped atleast 20%. Also you usually have to ask for chips and salsa, which are free, but you usually have to request them...
