My wife and I were interested in finding a sushi restaurant in Columbus. We walked by Taku Steakhouse the night prior, which appeared to be a bit more upscale in terms of ambiance and decor. However, the Ru Yi menu offered a variety of unique rolls (one per month of the year as well) that far surpassed the options at Taku. Therefore, we tried out Ru Yi and were pleasantly surprised with the uniqueness of some of their rolls (you might have to ask for a separate menu) as well as the flavors. The manager came over when we had asked about what unique rolls they had to offer and he later clarified that they've maintained using the highest quality sauces for their sushi, which most other restaurants have oftentimes cut costs by using cheaper quality ingredients. The four specialty rolls we picked were awesome and we truly couldn't pick a favorite of the four. The cost was reasonable and the service was timely. It would have been a bit more fun for our date to take place with a bit more subdued and upscale environment, but we came for the food, not the style...
Read moreOvercommitted staffs. My wife made a phone call at 12pm for a take out order at 12:45pm. When I arrived at 12:45pm, no one was at the counter. After waiting for 10 minutes, the owner showed up asking me "Dining in?". I said "No, I was waiting for a takeout that was supposed to be ready at 1245pm". The owner didn't respond and walked away.
After another 10 minute, a waitress asked me the same question and I repeated the same answer. She disappeared also. Concerning our food might not even be prepared, I called my wife and wanted her to cancel the order. When my wife called them, a waitress told her everything was ready. "Really? My husband stood there for 20 minutes and there was nothing" my wife replied. Then the waitress told her "Sorry we are too busy" and hung up the phone.
We understand that restaurants can be busy, but the lack of communication and the way the situation was handled were very disappointing. We feel so sorry to bother you during your busiest moment. We will stay away from Ruyi in the future to help you gain some...
Read moreI ordered Salmon roe(Ikura) but they gave me salmon so I called the restaurant since I was already at home and told them they gave me wrong order but they asked me to come back to there to bring salmon and will exchange to salmon roe... So I drove back there and I handed salmon they put it back and probably it was served to someone else eww... and a lady blamed me for her mistakes.. she said next time say IKURA instead of salmon roe which I said in both ways on the phone since she sounded confused... Sushi quality is not that good either. taste not good and each pieces are so small. I will not coming back to the restaurant and will NOT recommend to anyone. I think you should avoid this place becasue I have concerned of how they serving food that someone had it for over 40 mins outside of the store...and my overall experience at there.... totally wasted my gas,...
