Soho — Restaurant in Columbus

My spouse and I always ride pass soho and wanted to try it and get the experience… We’ll we visit soho last night and when we came in the security was speaking with two other ppl.. We didn’t know that you had to be ID when you enter into the place.. So we head over to the bar and the security comes running up like almost push me to ask us for our ID’S I did express “ oh wow i didn’t see you there you scared me” with laughter and he just looked at me no apology for basically rushing us with our backs turn for a ID picture. After that was over the bartender comes up and ask what would we like and i then asked do you guys have any signature drinks and she proceed to say no what do you like sweet and I stated no not really i like bitter drinks and she just looked at me like i was getting on her LAST NERVE. At that point my spouse was like you know what we will take two shots. After we order another drink with a different bartender and she was really pleased and nice. We decided to get one more shot before we left and we ended up getting the rude bartender so she fit our shots at this point she’s only directing her attention towards my spouse like i had done something to her. Also after giving the money back she didn’t place it in my spouse hand she placed it on the table. At that point we felt unwanted and we just left. Attempted to find a chill place last night to have a few drinks and stumbled across this bar, from the time my partner and I walked in we felt like we were not welcomed. The security was deep in conversation with patrons so we walked straight to the bar, and instead of saying something he waited until we attempted to order a drink to then walked up directly behind my partner, WAY TOO close to ask for id’s, my partner and I showed we were of age and he made a snarky comment about us not showing him our ID’s but if you are on door duty, you should be stopping guests before they get past you, we proceeded to order a drink and the bartender could not offer any ideas or drink suggestions so we ordered shots of tequila, she was very rude and standoffish, when she handed me my change instead of putting it in my hand she placed it on the bar. There are bars in Columbus and then there is the bar. This bar is of a rare breed. I had someone not long ago tell me they were new to the area and went bar hopping and once they landed in this place they knew they had found the bar. Good music, pool and darts along with the cheapest prices you will find in town and there is no cover charge. The staff is attentive and they have some top notch bartenders that provide fast, friendly service.Their security is the same security that’s been there for years and they are alert and professional.
