Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Columbus

Myself and my family have eaten at this location several times over the years. Tonight has to be the hands down worst I have ever had eating here. We had a party of five and was waiting on two more to arrive. We had a friendly greeting and seated pretty quick. E had one waitress come by and tell us they would be with us in a minute. Few minutes went by and still no waitress. A different waitress finally comes by after being there 15 or so minutes and takes our drink order. At this time we already knew what we wanted to eat so we ordered our dinner as well. Another 10 minutes goes by before we get our drinks. We finally get our meals and everyone meal is correct but mine. I had ordered a triple steak burger and received a a double bacon burger. I was annoyed at this time and decided to just eat the burger and pay my bill. We finish our meal without any waitress checking on us. If they had we would of ask for condiments to put on our sandwiches and hotdogs and notified them that both bowls of chili was cold and didn’t taste well. Instead we set for another 20 minutes waiting for the bill while the majority of the wait staff talked in the back or near the front register. There seemed to be no manager, at least one that was managing there staff on duty. The service and food quality we received tonight has made me and my family decided to never step foot back into this store. We came because it was always good food and service now we will never return due to how poor this...

Although I have a high opinion of Steak n Shakes overall, I will not ever be visiting this particular location again. They gave me my order, and unfortunately I did not catch the mistakes until I was over 15mins down the road. Since I had over a 30min drive to get home, I decided to call the store. Instead refunding my order, I was told they do not give cash refunds and I would have to return to the store for them to resolves the issues I had with my order. Although it is partially on me for not checking my order before I left the parking lot, I almost never have an inaccuracy on my Steak n Shake orders. If given the wrong food was not bad enough, the food I did received was not great at all. The patties themselves were misshapen and cold, and my sons grilled cheese was terrible. It was two soggy pieces of bread and melted cheese in the middle. A far call from the quality of food I normally receive from this franchise. At least the fries were good. This was the absolutely BEST Steak 'n Shake I have ever been to. My boyfriend and I were driving home from vacation and decided to stop by at lunch since the wait at Cracker Barrell was so long. We were a bit hesitant since the Steak 'n Shakes we have been to have always been slow and had terrible service. However, we had someone greet us when we came in and immediately sat us. We received drinks in just a few minutes and our food within 10. Not only did our server check on us frequently, but the manager also came by to make sure we were enjoying everything. The employee at the register even asked us how our milkshakes were when we went up to pay. If only we lived near Columbus, we would definitely make this a habit of visiting this restaurant because we have never had such kind and quick customer service! When we are back in the area, I will definitely feel confident in being able to get my food quickly at this location. Best Steak 'n Shake visit I've ever had- this visit restored my hope that there are actually still awesome Steak 'n Shakes out...
