Customer retention is of paramount importance no matter which industry you're in. No business should sacrifice friendliness in favor of perceived efficiency. Any good business should be able to provide both.
It seems like a hostile work environment, and I feel bad for the employees. This Subway has a very off-putting atmosphere, that leaves you feeling stressed. The sad part is it's all so unnecessary. It stems from misguided management that seem to miss the point.
I'd list off 3 toppings and the employee just kept saying "what else?" Until there were 12 things listed and he messed up literally 3 times... on 1 sub. I was queuing up the necessary information properly so he wasn't waiting at any point for me to tell him what was next. He didn't want to know 3 things in advance... he needed 12. - that he couldn't remember, nor execute properly.
That's not even the funny part. The funny part(s) were: 1. There was no one else in the restaurant. 2. He would have gotten a tip. 3. It's just as efficient to fill the empty audio space with normally expected pleasantries. - He is the one physically making the sub. Getting all the information out as quickly as possible so I can wait for him to mess up my sub 3 times... Isn't any quicker than him making it equally as fast - while being polite.
I won't...
Read moreJust thought I’d share what happened to me Monday morning. I stopped in to get something to eat about 9 o’clock before I got to my office. I ordered a 6 inch cold Cut combo and the total was like somewhere around $5.50. I tried to swipe my card and it was declined. I thought that was weird so I tried to swipe my car again. It was also declined. I tried it one more time and it declined, but I noticed that every time the tip screen came up I had to hit no tip numerous times for it to go to the next screen. After thinking for a minute, I asked the guy to try one more time and I added a 10% tip before I swipe my card and when you know. Some reason my card automatically went through. I called my bank fraud department while I was standing inside. One time could’ve been a glitch, maybe even two times but Was declined until I added that tip Automatically was approved, if that’s not fraud. I don’t know what it is. Has anybody else had anything similar to this happene at this location? Just beware and check your credit cards if you make a debit...
Read more4:30PM. I'm the only customer in the shop. No one out front at the counter when I came in. Young lady came out to take my order. Ordered three Italian heros. Took forever to slice the buns. I asked if I could go ahead and take a cup for the tea I was adding to my meal. She then ran out of meat and went to the back to look for more. Another young lady came out and started putting cheese on loaves that had finished rising and needed to be baked. Doesn't work on my sandwiches or speak to me. First young lady comes back out about 5 minutes later and says they are out of meat for the hero . We start deciding what to do. Second young lady then goes in the back and comes out with meat and said it was in the apple slices box. Very slowly sandwiches are now completed. This whole process took about a half hour. This was the strangest service I've ever seen at a Subway. On Perimeter Dr in Dublin I would be in and out in less than 5 minutes including waiting in line. Hero was...
