⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2.5/5 Taqueria Dos Rositas – Columbus, OH (East Side) 📍Mobile taco truck with a loyal local following
I used to hit this truck often years ago when I worked nearby — back when it was fast, cheap, and dependable. I hadn’t been in a long time, so I recently gave it another shot. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the memory.
⸻
🌮 What I Ordered • Chorizo Taco: Solid. Seasoned well and satisfying enough. • Chicharrón Taco: A no from me. Extremely tough and overly fatty — hard to chew, and I couldn’t finish it.
🧂 Salsa & Tortillas • Salsas were okay — average to slightly above. • Corn tortillas were actually a highlight: soft, warm, and held together well.
⸻
💰 Price Range: $3–$4 per taco. Price has gone up since the old days, but the quality hasn’t kept pace.
⏱️ Wait Time: Roughly 10 minutes during lunch rush — pretty standard.
🔊 Noise Level: Normal for a roadside food truck: passing cars, background music, and a few folks chatting while they wait.
🪑 Seating: None. No tables, benches, or covered areas. It’s a true grab-and-go setup.
🅿️ Parking: Street parking available directly next to the truck. Usually not hard to find a spot.
🧍🏽♂️ Service: Straightforward and quick. You order, you wait, you go. Not much chit-chat.
👧🏽 Kid-Friendly? Not ideal. There’s no seating or shade, and the menu doesn’t have much in the way of kid-friendly options unless your child already eats street-style tacos.
♿ Wheelchair Accessible? Partially. The truck is parked on flat pavement with curb access nearby, so you can reach the ordering window without steps. But there’s no seating, tables, or covered waiting area. It’s workable if you’re just ordering and leaving, but definitely not designed with accessibility or comfort in mind.
⸻
📌 Final Take: Taqueria Dos Rositas is the kind of place that’s fine if you’re in a rush, low on cash, or craving something simple and familiar. But if you’re hunting for standout flavor, it probably won’t hit the spot.

🗣️ Let Jess Tell It: Glad I gave it another try — now I know to keep driving.

Read moreAs authentic as they come! This is real Mexican food, tortillas being made fresh constantly using a traditional wood press. They have a wide variety of dishes, with a vegetarian base - you choose the meat for them! And the meat choices offer even more variety, with cactus too as an optional side! Food is prepared fresh and generously portioned so you'll need to wait a few minutes, but there's a canopy over a picnic table and some chairs to wait or eat in comfort. Three things to keep in mind when visiting here... Cash only! They will take your order and get it going if you need to run to a nearby bank for cash, though. Knowing how to speak Spanish is helpful. Like I said, it's authentic, made from scratch by a wonderful Mexican family. Dad takes the orders, and his first language is Spanish. Don't ask to substitute ingredients. You can add things or omit things, but swapping won't work here. For the most part, you're building on a base anyway so it's not an issue. Only a couple of special dishes have multiple ingredients that may be tempting to...
Read moreYUM! We were passing through town when I found this taco truck on Google. After reading the reviews we decided to stop and try it. I’m so glad we did! I got 2 of the marinated pork tacos and OMG they were delicious. The tortillas tasted freshly made. Possibly the best tacos I’ve ever had. My fiancé got the chorizo burrito and it was huge. The chorizo tasted like it had also just been made. We will definitely be stopping here next time we’re passing through. Highly recommend! Don’t let the sketchy neighborhood...
