D&S Lounge — Restaurant in Columbus

I gave two stars, 1 for location, 1 for the attempt to have a spot for the older folks, great concept. I say attempt because the sign say 30 and up, but the crowd wanted to still be in their 20's, from the attire of the women to the men looking like they were in the same clothes they had been in all day, not a hint of cologne, to the music. FYI a DJ is supposed to get people on the dance floor by playing music that make people want to dance, a music player just plays music, and doesn't care if people dance, which is what this place has. I was paid as a club reviewer for some top line clubs in L.A, and after my reviews stayed top line. D&S has potential to be better starting with the music, for over 30, let's leave the new rap music to the actual 20 year Olds and play a variety for the age range, get people on the dance floor, also the volume doesn't need to be at sign language level, people should be able to have a conversation when they are sitting next to each other. Maybe if the men were dancing with the women they would actually bathe and think about their attire. Oh yeah, the sagging showing your underwear is stupid for kids and ridiculous for 30 and up. I came here with my cousins and my 73 year old mother and they was able to go in with their purses and your employees stop me because MY purse was to big and proceeded to check my purse and CLEARLY I didn’t pose any threat and try to make me put my purse in their car!!!! My cousin saw what was going on and how upset I was why they let my mother go in with her big purse. My cousin went with her big purse, but I couldn’t mind you. I am a 53 year-old grandmother of seven and I don’t live in Columbus I live in a small town called Heath. And mind you there are other patrons in your facility with big purses! I've come here many times with friends each time service is VERY rude FROM THE FEMALE BARTENDERS. Although, I've been many times this is my first review. Recently, came for the 8th anniversary party. My experience wasn't the greatest due to the female staff. Every time I in have come here the female bartending staff is very rude in addition the service is slow. Service with a smile does not exist here. I have also been double charged for my drinks in the past so watch your purchases. I try to support black businesses, however when you are met with attitude for the slightest requests such as ice 🤷🏾‍♀️..this leaves a very bad impression.
