Staff seemed very nice although not helpful. Checked in, went to our room and could not get the door to open. Clerk at the desk came down and had to hit and push on the door to get it to open, once opened said if there was any more trouble with it let them know. We had trouble there they whole time with the door, opening and closing it. The toilet, when flushed, would not stop running, went to the desk to let them know and she said she would wright it down, but did not offer to have anyone come look at it, so we had to listen to the toilet running all night. For the whole time we were there the toilet ran. Then there was the noise above our bed. It sounded like a spinning washing machine or a Jacuzzi. This went on for a long time. I went back to the desk and explained about the noise, ask what it could be and could they check it out, even wondering about the washing machine ... I was told housekeeping did laundry in the other building, only saw one building so wondered about that. The next morning when this noise started again my husband saw a house keeper carrying bedding to the 2nd floor. (made me wonder about what they told me as far as their laundry facility being in the other building) The noise went on for a bit the evening with about 10 to 20 minutes of quiet before starting again. We did stay that night hoping the noise would not start again but it did right before I went out, stopped at the desk to let them know the noise was there again and nothing happened except it went on all morning and into the afternoon. I ask about this when I got back explaining my husband was trying to sleep but the noise kept him away. Still nothing done. |I had ask for a handicap room because my husband uses a wheelchair. I was told they booked us into one, I ask about a walk in shower and was told there was one. Please if you or a family member needs one DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL, because the walk in shower was big enough to put the shower chair in but not to get his legs in also in so you can pull the shower curtain. |The door was difficult to get the wheelchair through, was even worse when we were leaving, almost could not get it out. (keeping in mind the door had to be opened before attempting going outside) The door I had trouble with, I am not sure had there been something happen and my husband needed to get out, I am not sure he could get the door open...something to think about.|We decided to leave a day early because of the problems we were having that the employees did not think was a problem. When I checked out, explaining why we were leaving a day early the clerk finally ask if we wanted another handicap room if one was available. By this time that was a NO, While I did not ask for a refund I did believe that because they felled to take care of the problems that I informed them of they should've at least offered a discounted refund since it was after check out. But they offered nothing. |I did not mention the "free" breakfast. Maybe it's because I'm not use to this but the only thing there was was scrambled eggs(which were good) Cereal with no milk. Maybe on this one I am being picky but if they are doing a buffets type of a meal then someone should be watching to feel things when empty or else close the dining room down when the food it gone. Maybe I am being picky on this one thing but considering all the things we delt with I don't think so. |Oh the TV only half worked and to turn the bedside lamp on you had to turn the over head light on, this at night could keep the second person awake when trying to sleep.|Also if you have a handicap person traveling with you , while they do have handicap parking spaces there is NO access(at least to our room) for the wheelchair to get up on the walk in front of the door without wheeling down the drive and going around cars to gain access so you can make an attempt to get into your room.|Would we go back, NO. Would we recommend this place...
Read moreMy guest and I stayed in several hotels under the umbrella of Choice Hotels during the week and weekend and this was by far the worst one - I would consider it lowest Quality Inn. My first mistake was pre booking a room at this establishment and using the non refundable option. The photos of the property when booking are extremely misleading and make the property look way better than it does in person. This place should be considered a motel and not a hotel because the room access are all outdoors.
I am a wheelchair user and this low Quality Inn was extremely inaccessible to me. The lobby curb was extremely high and the ramp was so far down I didn't even know it existed. There was no automatic door to this establishment unlike all the others I stayed in previously that week and weeknd. The dining and vending area are also in a separate room and non electric doors and wheelchairs do not mix. I have a condition that doesn't allow me to open doors safely or at all sometimes due to the weight, angles, and inability to propel myself while doing so.
The check in process was extremely awkward due to the attitude of the one man on night staff. He gave me the impression that I was an inconvenience and spoke extremely softly requiring me to ask him to repeat himself several times and asked for my credit card even though the room was booked and paid for online. The card terminal was on the highest counter completely out of reach and I had to get my guest to assist me with the transaction that ultimately failed. I trusted my guest so giving them my pin code wasn't a big deal, but that may not be the case with everyone especially if they are unaccompanied.
There was one drink machine outside near the lobby that refused to take my bills and had no credit card option. This machine is also where people (even staff) decided to stand and smoke so it took a while for me to even get the opportunity to approach it for my failed attempt.
The cleanliness of the room was absolutely unacceptable. It was obvious that everything from the waist down had been neglected and the bathroom was the worst I've ever seen in any hotel establishment. In addition to the thick layer of soap scum covering the bottom of the shower doors, there were dirty boot prints in the shower pan. It was unfortunate that I needed to use the shower and was unable to clean it enough to feel comfortable enough to do so. There was no way I was going to take my shoes off in that establishment or even place my socked feet on the carpet which was also dirty and neglected. The shower door when moved let out ear piercing shrills and sounded like a truck peeling out of the parking lot.
The TV in the room blacked out every 5-10 seconds and was completely unusable.
The best part about this room were the beds. It was the standard updated Choice hotel bedding which I found acceptable.
It seemed like there were people living on this property which I have absolutely no issues with, but the other guests were loud well past midnight.
I tried to contact corporate during my stay to address the issues because I felt uncomfortable Approaching the night staff that checked me in and unsafe in the parking lot at night. I couldn't hear the staff enough to use the phone as an option so those are the reasons I ultimately decided to contact corporate. Corporate was zero help even though I explained my situation and was feeling unsafe.
The check out process in the daytime was acceptable as I was greeted politely by two individuals that seemed surprised the room was in poor condition as shown to them in photos and videos. I was offered no compensation for the poor experience.
This establishment should have lower fees due to the fact their property hasn't been updated, nor is it in a prime area of the city. I'm not sure if I'm able to leave comments about the specific cost so I will abstain from doing so, but his property cost just as much as the other establishments I had stayed...
Read moreThe gentleman that first checked us in (in the middle of the night was exceptionally kind, informative and helpful. The lady that was working the next morning was awesome as well. We didnt check in until after 4 am. He worked with us on the cost, allowing us to stay a full night and to charge us $30 for an early check in. A lot of other hotels would either not allow you at all to check in until 3 pm or charge you a full night and make you leave a few hours later at 11 am. So we were thrilled. The sign at the desk said NO PETS. However, Quality Inn website said pets are welcome. NOTHING was mentioned online about pet fees. I feel that if a franchise is going to use a Corp name then they should be made to follow the same rules. Anyways, I asked anyway about pets. He did allow us to stay with them except we had to pay $25 the first night (per dog and we have 2 small dogs) and $10 per dog each additional night. In addition, we were required to pay $50 deposit -refundable at checkout. If paying cash- he said we would get it right back or if paying with card 7-10 business days. The room was fairly clean. However , there was food particles on the floor still as if it was never vacuumed. The mirrors look like they were cleaned with soap and we're very foggy . The night stands and desk had dirt and rings left from cups that were not cleaned up from prior guests. The room is very outdated with the bedspread looking like it was from the '70s. It still has carpeting. I think all hotels should be required to have their carpet removed at least in the rooms for Sanitary / Health reasons. The bathroom has been updated with a new tub and Surrounding. New flooring laid in the bathroom and vanity area. Although we do like the lamps in the room (LOL) they also appear to be from the '70s. But very dirty. The air conditioner / heater appears to be brand new. Filters still add tape on them and were very clean. Overall , the room isn't so bad ,obviously or we wouldn't be staying for additional nights. For the price that we paid we feel is fairly reasonable. There's also free breakfast available in the mornings, vending machines and laundry facility. If anything that could be changed, We would recommend updating And getting a handle on the security man. Also there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and just minutes from i-70.
After staying the first night, we got up the next morning and decided to stay another night. We were greeted outside by the security/maintenance man. Who, might I add, is on a super power trip! He first knocked on the door and said "you have dogs in here! You need to pay, come with me!". His demeanor was abrasive and accusatory. He said that we didn't pay the dog fees from the prior night . He was ranting and raving about people letting dogs use the bathroom on the property and mentioned that no one wants to cut the grass there because of dog poop (note: there is literally NO grass on this property- it is all rocks ) if you do bring your pet here you are not allowed to exercise them at all on the property. They tell you you have to leave the property completely even if you carry around Poop bags to clean up after them. Which we have Every time they've been out. The desk clerk that was standing there was kind enough to defend us and repeatedly told him to stop yelling at us because we didn't do anything wrong. We had to ask for new key cards since we had just paid for two more nights. He began yelling at us again only this time about having too many cards and that no one ever returns them once they leave the office. The desk clerk had to tell him once again to stop yelling at us and let him know that we had to get new cards because we were staying two additional nights and the computers were down earlier when we originally went...
