Our 20th anniversary diner... when reserved it was put in as an occasion... However nothing was mentioned and I saw them do something for a guys birthday... So other places in this price range who ask at reservation have a table card sometimes a desert etc...nope.... Let me start off by saying it wasn't bad but it wasn't more then average preparation of food at a premium price. I have had comparable items for about the same price at other places and this was reasonable for the atmosphere and the items as stated....HOWEVER... The food prep was average to mediocre "very overstated " making the quality ingredients worth less than the listed prices. The French onions soup is good but still Not as good as a comparably priced ones from walts hitching post in KY or Mon Ami Gabi in Vegas. Note I'm not saying the prices for the food are not fair... I'm saying the preparation of quality ingredients was sub par... They did not have their Prime chilli... so I got the Caesar Salad. The salad was good It had a dressing with a slight citric lemon hint. The croutons where still crisp but where borderline stale. It was ok at best. So I will say the best thing was the Brussel sprouts.... yah I know we had steak... but it was the Brussel sprouts. They had a very savory taste with a lil sweetness and are excellent. We both had ribeye and unfortunately they were not tender as ribeye should be. The edges of the steaks fat was too charred to the point it was that dull burn char grill taste. The rest of the steak was evenly cooked and was medium as we asked. However it seemed like they got cooked while the meats coor was too cool... making the outside over done and the inside warm. My wife got the Oscar topper as she always does... it was very lil meat too much creaminess and instead of asparagus spears attop it... they chop up small peices of the asparagus for the topper and the asparagus was not tender as it was under cooked... I actually had to ask ... is that the Oscar topper? It was that funky looking. My steak came out, but the bordelaise sauce I ordered was not ready till almost 10 minutes later...and It was way too thin and watery.... note I'm not saying it had water in it ... I'm saying it was not thickened enough... maybe the wine in it was not cooked to enough reduction maybe not enough callogen in the bone marrow used ...or if they used butter not cooked enough... I dunno the server said they were making it still when he brought out the steak.... the kitchen should have that kinda thing prepped if busy "they were not" or at very least start sauces first so they are ready with the entree. It's not a thing to be petty about as this lil 3oz portion of sauce will set you back $6 So it is a specialty made sauce... The loaded mash potatoes where Super dry... they needed to whip with some more cream or butter as it was dense and dry... the bacon attop it was good though... their Mac n cheese is a skip as the cheese is thick but seems as if it was poured over the pasta to which it did NOT stick. It was cheesy but bland in flavor... not at all impressed with the restaurants food and service. Note our server was nice and we gave him a great tip cause he did every part of his job except recognizing that it was a special occasion for us which if the reservation asks - yah should make the effort. Also since the place was 70% empty on a Saturday night in a casino "now I know why" I figured the guy could use a good tip. MIKE was super nice.... So TWENTY years as head of restaurants I noticed some things. It's mismanaged and the kitchen is not using time management and plating techniques. It was kinda sloppy and food was not checked before serving... aka it's being ran short order cook style, but unorganized. They have the server's clearing tables? Mike our server did not even get to greet us or get our drinks till 10 minutes after seating us and loaded up with empty plates etc he apologized and said he we be right with us. My wife said she enjoyed her 8oz she had at Texas Roadhouse last week more... I WAS MORTIFIED RUINED...
Read moreFor Fathers day my Daughter made reservations at the Final Cut Steakhouse at the Hollywood Casino. I love my Daughter and she meant well however the entire experience was quite the disaster. First of all we had a reservation for 4PM and they opened a few minutes late, no big deal. The hostess was a little snooty and brought us to our table, I pulled out the chair and apparently the last person to eat at that table left a gooey sticky gob of some leftover meat or god knows what on the chair, I picked it up and handed it to the hostess, she looked horrified. We sat down and within a few minutes our waitress came to the table, we ordered cocktails and told her to put the drink order in and give us a couple of minutes to look at the menu, she was quite pushy and wanted to know if we wanted appetizers. She left and came back about a minute later and asked us again, and again we told her we were still looking. At this point my daughter asked why were we being rushed? there was nobody else there yet. Finally a third time she came back and we told her we were not going to order any appetizers and she said she would be back after she put our drink order in. Our drink order in? I thought she had already done that.
The waitress comes back again and we order dinner, Caprese Salad, Filet, prime rib, sauteed mushrooms, baked potato. She brings us a bread basket and three small square ramekins with strawberry jalapeno, Cilantro butter, and chipotle butter. Also 2 tiny dishes with some sort of beef salad. We asked for regular butter for the bread. The beef salad think was OK, the strawberry jalapeno sauce had seeds and no jalapeno taste, the cilantro butter was OK, and the chipotle butter had no taste either. It took 20 minutes and a reminder for the waitress to bring the regular butter.
The salad is served, the tomatoes are ice cold and have green yellow hard inedible middles, the mozzarella cheese is not fresh and very dried out, and there is almost no oil or vinegar on it at all. I cut around the bad parts of the tomatoes.
Before dinner came the waitress took our silverware including the clean unused silverware and gave us different knives, my knife was dirty with leftover food stuck to it. She seemed quite annoyed when I handed it back to her.
Dinner comes out and we start to eat. The mushrooms look slimy and taste slimy. The potato looks like it was leftover from Yesterday, and pretty much tastes like it was heated up in a microwave. My steak is tough and chewy and after a few bites from different areas of the steak I have had enough, this is not worth eating, actually I find it quite disgusting. I ask the waitress to please remove it from the table and she walks away, about 20 minutes later the chef comes to the table, I show him the food and explain why I don't like it and he starts lecturing me that the reason that I don't like it is because I ordered it wrong. I ordered it wrong? I queried, and then I rubbed my big belly and explained to this little skinny so called chef how I have been ordering and eating steak out for the last 30 years without ever encountering one this bad.
No manager ever came over and no replacement was offered. They took the salad, my steak and the mushrooms off the bill. I politely told them I would never return.
This restaurant charges top dollar for its products to eat there and everything is a La Carte. If I could give them negative stars I would, avoid this restaurant...
Read moreSix of us went to this for a friends 21st Birthday walked up and was told we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. That's fine but once we got seated and looked around the place was nearly empty! We ordered and got our food, waiters all very nice and helpful. Food was delicious and drinks were great! Finally came time to get the bill, or so we thought... we waited nearly 45 minutes for the bill. Due to the computer system going down they kept us sitting there until they got it back up and running. Which after that long they said they still had to run our cards "old school." I asked TWICE, one of which to the manager for some sort of compensation. I suggested 10 percent, or one drink taken off each bill or one side to be taken off the bill. The MANAGER said he couldn't do that. It wasn't the restaurants fault it was the storms fault the computer went down... So we sat and sat listening to everyone have fun and gamble while waiting for them to get the computer up and after 45 minutes they still just copied or wrote down our card info... I believe the manager didn't want to do this due to our age... we are all young and didn't know some of the lingo in the restaurant but we where not rude in anyway and did now get rowdy or loud. Finally after we have gave our cards and got the final receipts they decided to offer a free desert. Oh wow gee thanks after me asking twice in the 45 minutes and we are finally about to spend money at the casino like we wanted and they wanna keep us longer? Why on earth was that not offered earlier? Why couldn't the manager hit the minus button on the screen for the sides or an employee 10 percent discount?
In other words, DON'T go here if you want to drink and play at the casino. They will keep you hostage and it's not...
