We visited during your soft opening and pretty much ordered 1 of everything! I was SO impressed, have literally not stopped talking about the meatballs...and salvating over the next time we could go. We came last night and I wanted to try something new. We got the meatball sub bc...well obviously the meatballs 🙌🏼 and both fried doughs. During the opening you were swamped and everything was amazing (despite wrong toppings being on the wrong pizzas) and warm and fresh. Last night was not as busy, I came running when I got the text and wow was I dissapointed. The sub was lukewarm at best. The bottom burnt. Couldn't cut into it. Broke the fork trying to eat it. Felt like I was chewing leather. Both doughs mediocre at best...also cold, no flavor (except we could taste cinnamon and sugar), hard, also like chewing leather. Not the fluffy dough I was expecting. It was time for a fresh take on pizza in the German Village area. As much as I love the local staples, The Pizza Box gets a warm welcome (and recurring visits from me.) The ingredients are so flavorful, the crust is perfectly chewy, and the crew in the truck are lovely! I haven't tried a za I haven't liked, but the pickle and sausage are my two faves.
NOT TO MENTION, you can take it all to-go OR have a nice bevvie inside at AOH.
This week, we tried the new wings (on Monday, they're 50 cents!) and salads and I'm hooked all over again. I'm a sucker for homemade sauces and crisp veggies and The Pizza box delivered...

This is by far the best pizza I have ever had and I try A LOT of pizza. I’ve went for the first time 1 month back and have been back 5 times already! I’ve not made it past the 1 thing I’ve ordered because I love the Detroit style so much but I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as amazing!!
