I will say this restaurant has delicious food. Sadly, Friday night was my last time spending my money at Tommy G’s. My son went to pick up a takeout order, paid for it, then decided to pick up a slice of cake and paid for it. The cashier charged him an extra $40 (pre-authorization she claimed )and didn’t want to recognize her era and instead got rude and nasty. They decided he was at fault for the extra $40 that he may have tapped twice, after he paid $10.90 for a slice of cake. Instead of apologizing, and admitting that they were wrong, they got rude and said they always do a pre-authorization. My son explained to her that he already paid for the food. He was just buying the slice of cake so why are you charging me an extra $40? The staff manager was called to the front and started speaking to my son also rudely. I told my son to conduct himself in a professional manner, which he did, and not cause a scene in front of the customers. They were not aware I was on the phone the whole time. My son tried to explain to the manager and the owner that he did not just volunteer an extra charge of $40 pre-authorized. Instead of recognizing or apologizing that they were in the wrong, the Owner/manager tried to give my son $40 cash and told him to bring his money back when the pending transaction fell off. He started trying to explain to my son how to use a card when making a transaction not knowing my son‘s age or what he does for a living. As my son tried to correct him he then walked off and asked my son if would he like to speak with the police. By then I decided to come to the restaurant in my pajamas, and give the owner back his $40 and told him to deal with me! The staff found humor in what had transpired. I assume customer service etiquette was left off the...
Read moreFirst time here.. 3 to 4 stars. Had a steak smash burger, large pizza with pepperoni and red peppers, two drinks 16 oz, two pieces of cheesecake... $70ish.... Atmosphere is super chill, you pick your food out when you walk in the door and then pick a seat anywhere that's available, there are multiple TVs to watch everywhere or you can sit at the bar. They bring your food out to you and although it's not a traditional, waiter/waitress because they do not come back to check on you... There were plenty of people floating around to ask for anything if you needed it. My husband really liked the burger, tasted like steak and the fries were like dill seasoned and really good! My pizza had a ton of cheese on it which I love cheese but it was so greasy, it was just pouring off of it, I would definitely have liked a more cheese and sauce balance. The crust was thin and crunchy but airy which was really good. They have Pepsi products at a self-serve station as well as a bunch of beer across the wall. Of course the best part of all in this place is the fact that they sell Mama kay's cakes and cheesecakes!! If you don't know what I'm talking about or you have never had them at one of the other dining establishments in Columbus or Midland, you are missing out! We got the banana pudding cheesecake and a plain cheesecake with strawberries and caramel... These cakes and cheesecakes are just phenomenal, there are no other words. They are a bit pricey at $11 a piece for the cheesecake but honestly it's worth it so it doesn't matter.... Honestly the whole menu is a little pricey. We did go on a Saturday afternoon around 12:00 p.m. and although it wasn't busy when we walked in it got busy very quickly... I would go back though and...
Read moreEntering this place, I was very optimistic! Saw great reviews and nice pics of the place. Hubby and I headed there for date night!
So upon arrival, we were lost. No signs to explain the process. We were about to walk in to sit down. But actually, you order at the counter, then get a seat. You need to grab your own plates and flatwear by the drink area. I learned this accidentally. Several people nearby asked the wait staff for these items. Simple signage would help.
The staff walks around looking for your order number. We had to wait for a table to open up because we had lost our place in line walking in first then coming back out. Hope that makes sense.
The person who took our order didn't tell us about the $2.50 wristband. It's refunded, which I learned after asking as I looked at our receipt. The Beer Wall was neat, but deceptibly expensive. You pay by the ounce. I MIGHT have had 2 beers (24 oz) I'm sure hubby did. He also had a house salad and 12 wings. I had the chicken fettucini and greek salad with a piece of cheesecake. Our bill came to $111.26 which includes a 15% tip.
The tastes of the meal was pretty basic. Hubby said the wings were a bit dry. He enjoyed the salad. My pasta was undercooked. The sauce had nice spice but the chicken was very grissly. I had to keep putting pieces of it in a napkin. Not good. Greek salad was okay. After reflecting on the cost of this sports bar experience, the taste and quality were not worth the price tag. We may try it again but not...
