Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbus

I will not be back at this location. I have worked in the food service industry for over 30 years. #1. Rudest waitress ever. You do not raise your voice to a customer or roll your eyes when they ask to be served. #2. We waited over 15 minutes for our drinks. A water and a coffee which we had to ask for 3 times and another worker brought them, not our waitress. Never got refills. Another table that came in after us, got their food when we got our drinks. #3. Brought us food that wasn't ours. #4. After our food arrived, it was cold. Obviously it had sat waiting to be brought to us. If fact another worker was having a "conversation" with our "waitress" about not picking up her food ontime. #5. Never got all our food. She said I'll be right back with your waffle. A few minutes later I saw her outside on what I can only guess was a break. #6. There was some sugar in the salt shaker. Maybe it was not her fault but I couldn't get it fixed because she was nowhere around. #7. The ketchup bottle she brought was almost empty. I had to get up and find my own. #8. The only coffee refill i got I had to walk over to the counter and ask another employee for. #9. At the register the employee who rung up our ticket did take off part of our meal, which I did appreciate. For only the second time in my life I left a bad tip. A penny. I am generally a over tipper because of my food service career. I noticed the other waitstaff would not help her. She was argumentative and mean. We called this type of waitress a "taker". Take and demand help because they can't handle their section and never help anyone else when needed or share tips or thanks for your help. You eventually stop helping these people, but it reflects on...

My husband and I came in for dinner at around 10:45pm only to be ignored, completely! We walked in and sat down at an open table and waited only to BE IGNORED in a dead restaurant, no exaggeration they never said hello or be with you in a minute, nothing! There was only 1 other table who had been waited on before we came in & 3 staff, 1 of which was actively cooking, the other 2 who were servers, never spoke a word to us. After more than 5 minutes a man walked in to do a to go order and was greeted right away & she took his order so my husband walked up to them to try to get service, stood behind the guy and after he was done ordering and left, BOTH servers just turned around like he wasn't standing there and ignored us some more. After a good 15 minutes or so we left! They weren't busy at all with only 1 other table nearly 11pm! Absolutely will not return to this location after going to this location only for the last 10 years with no issues! I usually can't stomach the idea of waffle house as a place I would like to go sit down for a regular meal, due to my past and only eating waffle house after the bars. But today I went into this one, and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was really good! Everything was prepared exactly as I asked for it. Also, my server I believe her name was Randi, was also great. I've never been in a waffle house and had a server that wasn't super rude!! She was very sweet, definitely made sure I had what I needed before I had to ask, and the other part that stood out was, because I've served for many years, was that although she was with a full section, she had a few minutes of down time I assume while waiting for all of the tables to eat, and she was still working, sanitizing menus. Not sitting around or standing around or going out to smoke. My whole experience was by far the best one ever with any waffle house. I didn't get to tell Randi that she was great and thank you so I hope she gets a chance...
