Let Jess Tell ItLet Jess Tell It
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5/5 Let Jess Tell It – Fronteras Tacos, Tequila & Wine 📍Columbus, OH | Visited: Weekend Evening If you’re looking for high-energy vibes, glowing cocktails, and a robot rolling through the dining room, Fronteras might be your kind of fun. 🔑 Quick Info for First-Time Diners: • Price per person: $20–$35 depending on drinks and apps • Wait time for a table: 10–20 mins on a weekend (we walked in) • Noise level: Moderate — festive but not deafening • Seating: Booths, tables, bar seating, and large group areas • Vegetarian options: Yes – veggie tacos, sides, and salads • Dietary restrictions: Limited labeling on menu—ask staff for help • Parking: Free lot available, fills up quickly on weekends • Kid-friendly? Yes, but best for older kids who can enjoy a lively space • Wheelchair accessible? Yes ⸻ 🍴 Food & Drink Breakdown: Tacos ($4–5 each) ✔️ Always the safest bet. Fluffy tortillas, fresh toppings, and consistently solid flavor. Queso Fundido with Shrimp & Chorizo ($12.99) ✔️ Rich, melty, shareable — it’s a repeat order. Birria Ramen ($13.50) ❓Not mine, but I tried it. Good enough to say we did — not enough to chase again. Carne en Su Jugo ($15.75) Hearty, comforting, and packed with steak, bacon, beans, and nopales. Worth trying if you like stew vibes. Pork Belly Guac (Market Price) Heavy. Fun to try, but you’ll want hot sauce or tortillas to cut the fat. 👉🏽 Pro Tip: Sub a pork belly taco + side of guac if you’re solo or just curious. Burrito Plate (~$13–$15) 🚫 A skip. Too much lettuce, underseasoned rice — doesn’t live up to the tacos. Spicy Mango Cocktail ($12) 🔥 This one hits. Not too sweet, nice heat, and dangerously drinkable. Pricey, but worth it. ⸻ 🤖 The Vibe: Loud lights, louder drinks, and a robot that brings alcohol to your table. You tap the screen to send it away. Pure spectacle — but fun. Ideal for: 🎉 Casual birthdays 👯‍♀️ Girls’ night 🍸 Pre-game eats 🏈 Watching the game with tacos ⸻ 👀 Service Notes: • Staff was kind, quick, and on top of things. • Prices reflect cash payment (there’s a card upcharge). • No free chip/salsa refills — plan your order accordingly. • That robot? Just for drinks — don’t expect your food to follow. ⸻ 🟡 Final Take: Fronteras isn’t trying to be deep — it’s trying to be a good time. Stick to tacos, queso, and cocktails, and you’ll probably leave happy. Over-order, or start getting too “experimental,” and the hit-or-miss shows. ✅ Good for fun nights out ✅ Better with a small group ✅ Even better with cash in hand ⸻ 📌 Save this if you like vibrant spots with good tacos and wild drinks 💬 Been here? What’s your go-to order? #LetJessTellIt #ForkAround #ColumbusEats

Went out with friends for my buddy's birthday. We were recommended to go to Fronteras for some amazing Hispanic food. It was like a 30 to 40 minute drive for us, but Holy moly was it worth it. I put up pictures of everything that our group ordered (I was that guy, making everyone pause so I can take pics), but I can only speak on what I ordered. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and my two friends from out of state even mentioned this was the best Latin American food they've ever had. When I go to a Latin American spot, I have a hard time understanding what's on the menu except for the really basic options like tacos or burritos, etc. So I typically stick to those when I know I'm missing out on a whole taste culture put there. That's why I really liked their online menu because a lot of the items came with visuals and descriptions. That really helped me understand what is everything. Under "Especialidades", the Colombian dish Bandera Paisa caught my eye. I think it'd be easier to describe what WASN'T in this dish. It came with chorizo sausage, chicharron (fried pork or pork rinds, very crispy and good), a small grilled steak, a fried egg, fried plantains, pinto beans, sliced avocado, and arepitas (mini fried corn patties). This dish had such an assortment of food, it was absurdly delicious. Please look at the picture!! I highly recommend people try this dish to get a decent idea of Latin American food outside of tacos and burritos. The birthday boy also got a dessert called Xangos, which is a Mexican fried cheesecake chimichanga which came with whipped cream and ice cream. I'm sorry I didn't include a picture, this dessert had no chance of making it and I couldn't stop everyone for long enough to snap a pic. Large enough to split between multiple people, but I would be really jealous of anyone who orders this just for themselves.

I have lived in the area for several years and have passed this restaurant daily. A friend and I decided to have lunch here and I will never be back. Although the atmosphere and many tv screens were nice, our server must have been having a rough day. Courtesy apparently was not learned or trained. From the time she seated us she walked to the table ahead us, laid down the menus on the table and walked away. She never even stated her name. We told her that it was our first time visiting and needed time to look through the very large menu. She gave no suggestions just walked away. As other guests were being seated around us we were seeing that they received chips and salsa. After waiting several minutes to see our waitress again we asked for chips and salsa and she stated very straight “there is a charge for chips.” I told her that that would be fine. She then brought the chips, salsa, and plates and then walked away again. After waiting some more she came back around and took our orders. By this time I did want to stay due to the service and asked the apparent manager on duty to have our order packed to go. After returning home to eat, the food was beyond disgusting! The club sandwich was soggy and small thin chicken breast were found under all the wet lettuce and tomatoes. We ordered three tacos as well. The meat on the tacos was dry and tough. The worst experience and expense for lunch ever. We will not be back and would not recommend!

Tried everything I could so I could get a good sampling of service, cocktails and food. Unfortunately, all 3 were sub par. Before going down that road, I will say that the place is gorgeous. It's new and the décor is top notch. If you're going there for a cold beer, chips and salsa at the bar, it'll do, they can't mess that up... Beyond that...not good. Service; Sorry but you need to stay on point if you're going to wait tables. Didn't bring us the complimentary chips and salsa...had to ask twice. He was very disorganized and simply seemed flustered. Missed one of the items I ordered as well. Never refilled water. Cocktails; I ordered a top shelf margarita. For the 1st time ever (and my fiancé" commented) I didn't finish my margarita. Tasted like straight mix, no tequila and it simply had no life to it. Very poor representation if your paying for a top shelff beverage. Food; I ordered street tacos. These are easy and in my opinion, represent the fundamental skill of the kitchen...again, for the 1st time ever, I ate 2 of 3 tacos...I just couldn't finish them. Not sure what meat they're using for steak, but it has to be the cheapest, toughest cut of meat I ever had. Add...no flavor...totally bland...no limes or choices of salsa...dry and bland - which Mexican food should never be!!! Same for my fiancé's meal. They had Mariachi's playing this night. I have learned that I will never get good quality Mariachi music here in Columbus. I give them 3-stars...as there were only 3 of them. They tried. It was a $55 evening and lesson. I won't be returning. I found 2 great places which serve awesome authentic Mexican food...one of them is in the back of a grocery store...and I'm okay with that. I have learned and continue to learn - someone once told me...and this pertains to my visit to this "Mexican" restaurant...If you go in and there's no Mexicans eating, that should tell you...
