I might ramble but please preserver it is worth it.
After a long day in the sun I was looking for a nice place to stream a football game and have a good beer with some food. Check mark 1 & 2 & 3 for Comfort Pizza, free wifi, good variety of Beer, and Pizza.
I came here on suggestion of a few friends, and while not expecting much for a small town spot, what I found was an amazing atmosphere and delicious pie.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Ty(owner) as I closed the place down while watching the game on my computer. Of all the places I have been in comfort, which is a good handful over the years, the wood fire pizza was amazing. Only words for it and I have been called a pizza snob in the past by friends. I went with one of the specialty pies, the "Bubba"(I was feeling meaty), and it was delish. Dough/crust had flavor which in my mind is a key sign the artist(Ty) truly cares about his pizza. After chatting with Ty, who in his early start was only looking to provide Comfort with a quality pizza, he has been over whelmed with praise for his pies garnering interest from surrounding towns and through traffic for the small town.
The unlimited potential that the great out door space he has, misting system and big fans installed for the heat, I would expect he has or will get some heaters for the cold, Ty hopes to capitalize and eventually get some live music and expand a bar and service area. But for now he is still more than capable of handling the crowd while offering entertainment of lawn games, including washers.
One recommendation, if you are a big group planning to visit, just give him a call and a heads up with how many and expected number of pizza's and it will make your experience run more smoothly.
Final bit, its rare that you find someone who finds early success in their career and still cares about growing and learning about their craft, but after conversing with Ty you can just tell he always wants to do better. Great things are happening here, if you are passing though worth the stop, just off I-10. I will now stop here every time I...
Read moreComfort Pizza in Comfort, Texas, is hands down the best pizza spot I’ve ever visited. This place is an absolute gem, tucked away in a town that’s as unique as its name. And let me tell you, in a state as vast as Texas—7.488 trillion square feet to be exact—Ty the Pizza Guy is THE best pizza chef you’ll find.
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t just any pizza joint. Ty and his team are dedicated to their craft in a way that’s truly unparalleled. You can feel their passion in the air and taste it in every bite of their delicious creations.
The pizza at Comfort Pizza is something you have to experience to believe. My go-to orders are the Ivan the Great, where I substitute Italian sausage with peppered ham, and the Sei Cheese. Both of these pizzas are out of this world. The crust is the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, and the toppings are always fresh and flavorful. Every bite is a testament to Ty’s skill and dedication.
But it’s not just about the pizza. The salads are fresh and perfectly complement the meal, the beers are well-selected to go with the menu, and the homemade Gelato is the cherry on top. I’m a huge fan of their mint chocolate chip Gelato—it's the perfect end to an amazing meal.
One piece of advice: call ahead. Comfort Pizza is popular, and for good reason. If you want to avoid a potential 45-minute wait for your pizza, it’s worth giving them a heads up before you head over.
Comfort Pizza is more than just a place to eat; it’s a reason to visit Comfort. The town itself is charming and worth exploring, and a stop at Comfort Pizza makes the trip even better. Ty and his team create not just food, but an experience that’s memorable and satisfying.
So if you’re in the area, make it a point to visit Comfort Pizza. Savor their incredible pizzas, enjoy a fresh salad, sip on a great beer, and don’t forget to finish off with their delicious Gelato. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
Bonus tip. If you're waiting, draft that review. It'll go a long way and save you some...
Read moreSo I had Comfort Pizza about a month ago, and their pizza was ok. Too much cheese, but their soda fountain is pretty legit. During this visit we had a group of about 10. Reservations were not needed. Went back a couple weeks later by myself, only a couple people there and the lady opened the window and asked if I had a reservation. I told her I did not and she told me then she can’t serve me pizza, but she would sale me a salad... Apparently it’s supposed to be common knowledge that you are supposed to make a reservation for a pizza joint, even though I have NEVER been to a pizza joint that requires this before. They were a little rude about it as well, like I should know better.
Well turns out, this is the way they run business. Someone else left a review with a similar experience and the company’s Facebook page shared it and started calling the reviewer a “keyboard warrior” and being ugly about a negative review in general.
So I decided to leave a review as well that stated:
“Ate it once before about a month ago, was ok.... However went by a couple weeks ago and was told I can’t order a pizza unless I have a reservation but that “they would sell me a salad”. This company also blasts people on Facebook and calls them “keyboard warriors” for leaving a bad review after turning customers away. Very unprofessional. Honestly wouldn’t even be writing a review if it wasn’t for seeing that kind of behavior.”
The company then decided to share this review on their timeline and proceeded to call me a snowflake multiple times, said I’m trolling, had other comments call me a lot more crude names, and told me my review is inauthentic. Below is some screenshots.
You can see on their Facebook page, and here in the Google reviews that this is a common practice for them. They say it’s sticking up for their business, I say it’s a bad...
