Love this place, so inviting and peaceful; however, was not 100% comfortable. |The room we stayed in (room #3) did not have the chairs that were pictured online. We were there for Superbowl Sunday. My husband is 6'4" and "not skinny". The primary reason I booked this room at this place was because the pictures showed what resembled recliners. They were low backed "waiting room" style chairs, not comfortable at all. |Other than that, the room was simple and beautiful, very functional with everything you might need.|The bathroom was very spacious... |One suggestion for the sliding barn door for the bathroom, ... A handle to help open from inside the bathroom.|The outside "patio" sidewalk chairs were small metal folding chairs...if we go again, I will take my own folding rocking lawn chair (I may be a bit spoiled)|There were 2 communal fire pits in front of this row of rooms with chairs around them. One was being used by a family that must have been staying out of our sight of rooms/cabins. They built a huge fire then left it for a bit. We did not feel comfortable going out, even to the other fire pit because we didn't know if they belonged there or not. Would be nice for the separate units to have their own...
Read moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camp Comfort during our mother/daughter trip to the Hill Country! We stayed in Cabin 6 (King bed w/ loft) that overlooked the creek, and though the creek was dry, the view was still beautiful. (Beware of the ladder up to the loft if traveling with elderly or children - it was quite steep). The host paid attention to every detail and provided exactly what you would need for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the fire starter kit, firewood provided, ice machine in the courtyard, games in the social hall, sound machine in the cabin, as well as plates/cups/utensils, etc. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable and soft too. We gladly purchased the s'mores kit to support the local library and enjoyed the organized guestbook for a list of local recommendations. In Comfort, we enjoyed trying Flamingo Street Gourmet Fusion Cuisine, Wander'n Calf Espresso Bar and Bakery, Comfort Pizza, and Singing Water Vineyards. Camp Comfort is situated just perfectly in order to venture to other nearby towns. We explored Kerrville and absolutely loved the Sunday special at Vaudeville in Fredericksburg. Don't miss out on this hidden gem in Comfort - it's even...
Read moreCamp Comfort was beyond perfect for our wedding. We were planning from abroad and never got to see the venue beforehand, so it felt like a gamble, but they seriously impressed us and communicated wonderfully throughout the planning process. We did a weekend buyout of the venue (so the fee was for the event plus the accommodation for 28 guests), giving our family incredibly comfy rooms and ourselves time to set up and prepare the wedding (as well as enjoy a dip in the creek). The venue itself is stunning so hardly needed decorating, and the place is just full of quiet spaces to enjoy. We held our ceremony by the creek (gorgeous in springtime!) and then did the reception in the courtyard, which was more than enough space for our 60 people to eat, dance, and enjoy the campfire. The social hall was perfect for setting up guest tables, dessert, our bar, etc., and provided a cool space on a warm day. As for the staff, I can't speak more highly of them! Kara, the site manager, just took off so much stress from me as a bride, helping clear up so that the space was pretty much tidy by the morning after. It felt like we were hosted by friends—Camp Comfort might be the friendliest place...
