Gruesome...that's the perfect word for the lunch I just had there. I ordered a reuben, fries and an iced tea. The food and drink were utterly tasteless! They brought me a small bowl of dressing (it was also tasteless, so I have no idea if it was Russian or Thousand Island), along with a squirt bottle of ketchup. I kid you not when I say the ketchup and dressing were as tasteless as the food! Whatever the dressing was, it looked like something you'd see after a night of binge drinking at a frat party! I didn't get a chance to sample the pepper, but the salt seemingly had no taste, either. If there was any way to add insult to injury after such a heinous meal, I'd have to say it was the the collective stupid looks on the other restaurant customers as they watched the inauguration of Agent Orange on the Fux Channel.
The only reason I went to this place was because Kickstand Brewing was closed for MLK Day. The only way this place has a 4.5 rating on GGL Maps is either they're gaming the system, or their regular patrons have as much taste in food as they have in their politicians.
Addendum: It's been less than an hour after somehow getting through that lunch, and I now feel sick. Honestly, I could eat a car tire, and not even get...
Read moreLet me preface this review by stating I worked for 5 years as a waiter, between 2 restaurants.
With that said I sat down for a nice lunch. I was greeted by a waitress, only for another waitress to interrupt, asking what I wanted to drink and putting down a menu for me. While I appreciate teamwork, interrupting your teammate like that is a huge no no.
As I was looking over the menu, I had 3 different waitresses come by including the one that greeted me to begin with, asking if I was ready to order. If I have my menu open, and my eyes look like they are searching the menu, no person should be rushed into an order.
The opa i got was alright, quite a bit of cheese was stuck to the bottom of the plate as i was trying to cut it. Normally the cheese is easy to cut with a fork and very little gets stuck, but this was not the case.
I just wished that someone would have told me that the club sandwich was a cold sandwich. That ruined my appetite all together (Not to mention the sandwich came out before the opa. I should never get an entree before my appetizer)
Overall, the meal left a lot...
Read moreBiff's is a local gem! Great Food, great price. It's much better than your normal Coney Restaurant using better ingredients, bigger portions, and better prices. For example, look at their Philly Cheesesteak.. Very consistent food, very good cooks here. Biff's is proof that not all Coney Joints are the same.. they are in a league of their own above the rest.
Update:8/29/2022 Biffs is still the best Coney in and around the area. They are VERY consistent and consistently excellent. They don't skimp on fresh ingredients, portions. For example, they are the only place I know of that makes their own hash browns from scratch. all of their dishes are home runs.. and head/shoulders above your typical Coney Joint. Staff is always friendly, they are super fast despite being always so busy. If there was a Michelin for Coneys... Biffs would be a...
