Any real deli will have fermented kosher dill pickles - usually a selection of new and regular. Their sign out front proclaiming they serve Topor's pickles is misleading. They only serve a cheaper, unauthentic vinegar pickle that they say Topor makes. When I suggested they upgrade to having a fermented real kosher dill which does not have vinegar as an ingredient, one of their employees, Marc, was extremely rude and hostile, saying things like, "she doesn't like our food'. He screamed at me after I had paid, claiming I didn't give him the signed copy. Turns out he had thrust it at me so aggressively it ended up going under the counter where the cash register was. There was no apology. The entire staff seemed to be defensive and kept trying to tell me their pickle was a kosher dill. The customer who checked out next to me knew better and said, "Thank you" and agreed with me that they weren't kosher dill pickles - you can taste the difference between a fermented and vinegar-preserved pickle.
I was so taken aback by the rude behavior, I called back later to take to management, and instead got Marc, again. I politely asked to speak to the owner and I heard Marc ranting about me in the background, lying to cover himself. He returned to the phone and said the owner was busy cleaning up for the day. As I was was requesting he take my number and pass it along to the owner, he hung up on me. I called back again to ask for him to please leave my number, and he hung up again. If he was my employee, I would fire him ASAP. I have never been treated so rudely or unprofessionally by...
Read moreRecently went and had the turkey corned beef salad( chopped) -Sooooo good-enough for two meals-
Wow! It’s been about three years since we visited. We used to visit at least twice a month and then Covid came and when we returned after they first opened, it definitely was struggling and our experience was pretty bad-
Well, our visit here last week was great. The food was on point. The only reason I couldn’t give a five stars because the potato salad wasn’t the same as what it used to be. It was way too sweet and a little too wet. My go to was always the Reuben and potato salad. This time, I tried the corned beef and turkey grilled on rye and it was perfect. They get points for actually using bread that is full size and not giving you a full-size piece on one side and a small tiny piece on the other side-The corn beef was flavorful and so tender it melted in your mouth. They use fresh roasted turkey. They give you quite a bit of meat on the sandwich as compared to some places who charge the same price if not more—
Our waitress was so nice and attentive - I was surprised they weren’t busier considering it was around dinner time, but maybe they close earlier and their rush is earlier in the afternoon -we definitely will be back. They are on our...
Read moreWe used to come here all the time and then we moved from the area so we couldn’t get here as frequently. Then Covid hit…We definitely have not been here for the past almost 3 years. So this past week I had a hankering for a corned beef sandwich and some of their delicious potato salad or what used to be their delicious potato salad- The corned beef sandwich was tasty but unevenly stacked with meat across the bread. One half of the sandwich was completely stacked and the other half had half the meat of the other side🤔 but the huge disappointment was the potato salad. It was absolutely gross, watery- I actually thought it was spoiled- if I lived within a couple miles I would have returned it. The chicken noodle soup was bland and the noodles were mushy- Won’t return - they’ve never been stellar for cheerfulness or friendly but I was willing to look past that because the food used to be very good and you got your $$$ worth. So something has clearly changed either since Covid perhaps a new cook but definitely not the quality of food that I...
