If you want Central Fish Market to give you shrimp half the size of a piece of Trident gum, and have them cut your fish into tiny pieces opposed to a regular piece of fish...they are ripping folks off by serving folks tiny fish nuggets, a tiny portion of french fries, and 1 hush puppy, and stale white bread for $16.00 dollars (not to mention that didn't include a can of soda for $1.50 .. just walk to Food 4 Less store in the same plaza and buy a litter for $1.29). Folks must like being ripped off or have no clue about places 1,000 times better and half the price... I should have passed on Central Fish Market when I saw how dingy and dirty it was inside, and I should have been skeptical when I was given my order in a tiny brown paper bag served in a tiny cardboard french fry tray.. Folks get comfortable with certain businesses in their community and continue to patronize these business owners who rip off their customers with poor service and poor quality of food & portions...No worries they will NEVER get my business ever again... There are too many other fish spots YouBuyWeFry that offer better quality fish/shrimp with larger portions and nearly half ($8.99) of the $16.00 that they are charging customers in their Compton located fish market... STAY AWAY! Know better do BETTER.. Google maps other spots that are better priced and offer decent fish/shrimp... It's really sad how people get ripped off in their own communities! Oh yeah Etna fish Market 112th/Vermont is definitely good and worth a try/drive plus many other fish markets that offer YouBuyWeFry! Central Fish Market AIN'T it plus they are salty and serve dried up & old fish! A lot of businesses are still using Covid-19 shut downs as an excuse to continue to raise their prices and cut back on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to love these people's food been coming here for a very long time at least 7 years. But they have truly put a sour taste in my mouth. Let me say that I understand the minimum wage has went up so your prices have to go up in order to pay your employees I get it. But the issue is you're now charging $43 for a number 43 . You used to get a pound and a half of fish 10 jumbo shrimp or 24 medium shrimp. Now if you want catfish they decide to charge you $3 extra I feel like they are out of line for this. As well as the fact is now you are charging a higher price but now you're giving 18 medium shrimp rather than 24 medium shrimp. I don't approve of this. You should have left it at 24 medium shrimp especially the fact that you're going to charge more. THEREFORE I WILL NO LONGER BE BUYING YOUR FOOD I WILL BOYCOTT YOU I WILL NOT BUY YOUR...

I used to go here all the time (eat better today) I went today and got the 2 piece fish and 3 shrimp combo. The pieces of fish was just one small piece of snapper cut into 2 pieces. The shrimp was alright just medium sized. The fish and shrimp was dry and didnāt taste the freshest. I went at 11am on a Wednesday so thereās no reason the fish shouldnāt be fresh. I do like the owner and his wife and the hospitality and service is pretty good so I gave 2 stars. Hopefully they turn this place around and give the people in this neighborhood some better product. The place did look and seem clean though I did like that.
Update: my granny just ate her orange roughy and said āthis fish is real goodā so idk maybe my snapper...
