The service was good. They really went out of their way to get it right and correct any mistakes. We felt very appreciated.
The food was good, but portions were kind of small and not as filling as we hoped.
The environment felt more like a cafeteria on Mars than a restaurant on Earth. The walls are solid dark blue with blue/white décor. The furniture is black and the lights are 5k LEDs (lightning white). Everything is in rows, so it almost feels like you're just herded in and out like cattle. It's a little bit of an odd feeling and could definitely use some warming up with some more color and a more welcoming environment.
One thing I was really disappointed about though was that it's in a social district and there is a perfect spot right up front by a huge window that would be a perfect place for a bar where people could hang out. Instead, they just have booths and tables and a dark blue wall to look at. Maybe they will change that. I would LOVE to go there and hang out at the bar and watch some games, especially right there by the window with natural...
Read moreThe experience at Charros was decent overall, but nothing that really stood out. We started with the chips and salsa, which were probably the highlight of the meal—crispy, fresh chips and a nice variety of salsas with good flavor. For the main course, I ordered La Charra. It came with beans, rice, chicken, bell peppers, and melted cheese. The portion was generous and the plate looked great, but the overall flavor was just okay. It could’ve used a little more seasoning to bring everything together. For dessert, we tried the cheesecake burrito and the cookie skillet. The cheesecake burrito had more of a plain cream cheese taste than a true cheesecake flavor—kind of bland and lacking depth. The cookie skillet looked really mushy and underwhelming in texture. Service was fine and the atmosphere was casual and comfortable. I wouldn’t rule out coming back, but it wasn’t a must-return...
Read moreOur family of four ate here around 1:30 on Labor Day. A few people were eating outside but we opted to eat inside. We were the only ones in there but were seated quickly and our waitress Anna was very polite. The chips came with 3 kinds of salsa and a bean dip which was very good. My son and I both had steak tacos. They were tasty but the steak was not as (temp) hot as I would have liked. Felt like it had been sitting out (?) The steak was well-seasoned though. My other son ordered grilled chicken tacos but they came with watery pulled chicken and peppers and he wouldn't eat them. The waitress later apploligized and said the kitchen messed it up. She did offer for them to remake them but we declined. My husband's dish with the best thing at the table, the Chef's Special. With 4 sodas and cheese dip it came out to $75 before tax and tip. Will probably go again and try...
