My family and I decided to give Chopbox a try, but unfortunately, we were disappointed by the experience. We placed a total of five orders—two bowls of pho and three combination plates.
We initially received one of the pho orders and were told they had run out of chicken and had to start from scratch, which was understandable. While waiting, the staff offered us an extra bowl of pho that had been made by mistake and offered it to us free of charge—we accepted. However, we were still waiting for our second pho order.
During that time, two groups of customers who arrived after us received their pho and left. When we inquired about our missing bowl, we were told they hadn’t realized there was a second pho order. The waitress went to the kitchen and immediately returned with it, which gave the impression that the pho wasn’t freshly prepared.
As for the combination plates, two were incorrect. One was supposed to be served with white rice and the other with noodles, but both came with fried rice instead. Since we had already waited a long time, we decided to let one of the mix-ups slide and asked about the noodle plate. To our surprise, we were told they had run out of noodles.
You would expect the staff to check in with customers about substitutions when ingredients are unavailable, but that didn’t happen—and that was a major letdown.
In total, our wait and dine-in time was about 2 to 2.5 hours. While the waitress was attentive, the overall experience was not good. Unfortunately, we won’t...
Read moreIf you are not the color on the bottom of your hands and bottom of your feet I wouldn’t recommend going to this restaurant! Walked in was greeted with a welcome in by one worker behind the counter while the other who was the waitress just acted as if she didn’t even notice a new customer walking in. Was asked are you taking out or dining in? I responded dining in. Was then told take a seat wherever you like. Remind you, out of the entire restaurant only myself and my husband were the only two there that was not the color of the bottom of our hands and bottom Of our feet. After waiting at the table for 5 minutes with no waitress to bring us drinks and menus, we then had to look the menu up on our phones while the waitress (the one who acted like she didn’t see us come in )who should have greeted us at the table we chose to sit at, then walked outside and stood there with a pile of menus for 10minutes. After giving them another 2minutes without being served menus or even offered drinks we decided to leave. As leaving a customer who was the color of the bottom of my hands and bottom of my feet started laughing as if it was so amusing to her that we sat down waited all that time and didn’t get served. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all I just know my kind obviously are not...
Read moreSuper disappointed, had higher hopes for this restaurant. First off, the pho was a joke - no steak, just a few sad slices of something that tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for days. The broth was bland, and the noodles seemed to be instant noodles. I've had better pho from a street vendor.
The service was painfully slow. It took forever for our order to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. The staff seemed disinterested and disengaged, like they'd rather be anywhere else. Maybe they were tired of wiping down sticky menus. Speaking of which, our menus were sticky to the touch, and I'm not sure I want to know why. It was gross and unappetizing.
But the cherry on top of this dumpster fire of a dining experience was the music. Explicit music blasting through the speakers, lyrics that I wouldn't even want my teenager hearing, let alone my young kids. I had to cover my kids ears while we waited for our sad pho. It was like they wanted to intentionally ruin the experience for families on purpose.
Chopbox, you've set a new standard for bad dining experiences. I'll be thinking twice before I step foot in your restaurant with my family again. Save your money and your sanity, and...
