I'm a delivery driver who has been refused to be given the orders due to the fact that the merchant cashier wanted to see me verify the customers' order, and for us to swipe complete pick-up order button infront of them. He was trying to tell me how to do my job when he has his own, behind the counter to worry about. A female who was telling the young kid what to do told the kid to put the order aside and ignore me. No yelling or any other verbal conflict took place. Simply bad attitude and unprofessional services. It takes common ethics to be professional... This is not my first encounter with the same problem. But other drivers that I know local of me. Whether there are family, relatives, friends, or community members that do the same job with a different company, they have the same problem with this place. They refuse to give the food in a careless, bossy attitude until they see our phone so they can make sure that it is complete, and we're on our way to drive. That is our job and the companies to track us and make sure we deliver on time and not for the El polo loco workers to tell us what to do. From the moment we pick up the calls and drive to our destinations, we are being tracked, so there's unnecessary involvement in the step that causes delay with customer service in both companies. Read moreI'd been getting food here for about 16 years and had received good customer service for the most part until late August 2021. They've had this convenient ordering system on their app and I used it one Sunday afternoon to order some food for the family.
I got into my car to pick up the food but then my car wouldn't start. Called my insurance to have somebody sent over, was notified the wait would be over an hour. I called El Pollo Loco up to cancel my order since I don't know if the problem with my car is with the battery or alternator. I had to assume to worse of the two. I was told that the order was canceled.
I followed up after 3 days since the charge was still on my card and was told that it takes about 5 business days to reverse the charge. After 2 1/2 weeks and 2 more phone calls the charge was still there. I had to call my credit card company to have the amounts charged back. Be careful when you use their ordering system. The customer service is disappointing and everything just seemed dishonest especially after patronizing the place...

The miscommunication we had due to the managers choice of this person to be taking orders seems very irresponsible and obnoxious. Just because the manager and/or owner speak Spanish doesn’t mean that every customer will. What I found irritating is that the cashier was pretending to understand what i clearly asked for when she had no clue. asked for a salad and gave the total dollar amount listed on the menu so there would be no confusion of what I wanted but of course her understanding of numbers being spoken in English was complete garbage. She put the order in for whatever she falsely assumed. The chicken is well cooked but service like this is somewhat obnoxious. Only had one item on my order ( nothing else ) so it’s kind of a no brainer situation.
