Very good BBQ! My Wife and I had their food for the first time and I gotta say it was really good! I got the chicken tender platter with fries and my wife got the bird house. (chicken tenders): PROS: - price - portion size - tenders were very crispy - fries had perfect crunch and softness of potato. - made fresh. Definitely wasn't sitting. CONS: - breading needs more seasoning. It lacked spice like garlic powder, salt or pepper. - need 2 dipping sauces served. Bird House: PROS: - price - portion size - love the pulled pork added to the baked beans. - the BBQ used on the pulled chicken was good and has a little kick at the end. - coleslaw was noms! - fries were perfect. Crispy and fluffy. CONS: - sauce for the pulled chicken seemed like it could have been mixed a bit better as some areas were stronger on the sauce than other. Something else I really liked was that they make everything to order. So you know the food is fresh. If you are not able to wait 10-15 mins than this might not be the place for you, but don't sleep on it. Lastly, the staff. Everyone was super friendly. Happy to support a family owned business! Keep up the great work!

Jan 22 2025, 5:55 pm. Ordered two double Wagyu burgers, one with reg fries, one with sweet potato fries, and two diet Pepsis. Order total with tip came to just under $60. At $30 per meal I expected to be pretty blown away. Service was good atmosphere was good. Food was very mid. But the biggest problem was that the burger was the SMALLEST hamburger I think I’ve ever been served…. For reference, I’m 6 foot tall, 185, average guy. I’m guessing the burgers were 2-3 oz Patties before cooking. I’ve also had Wagyu ground beef before and this did not taste like that. This tasted like your average 80/20 ground chuck. I’d like to reiterate that the food quality is not bad, and the service was good. But I will never spend $60 on two burgers the size of a half dollar again. We’re talking 3-4 bites.

First time visiting either location. I was excited to try it after hearing positive reviews of their food. I really enjoy the Market at Gibson Mill and I was pleased to see so many people out on a Saturday early afternoon. The employees were very kind and the menu offers a great selection for different tastes and ages. I had the Carolina bowl. The bowl was lacking in barbecue & baked beans portions. The pulled pork tasted great and the baked beans were top notch. The amount of coleslaw was overwhelming. I was confused by the two raw onion rings on top. Most disappointing was the Mac and cheese. It was room temperature at best. See picture for cheese that had not melted. Pricing is above what’s warranted. I wanted to rate them better.

The customer service here is absolutely HORRIBLE! The manager did not fill up the cups of my family's beverages and when I requested that she do so, she filled them up frantically, practically slammed them on the countertop spilling soda everywhere. She did not put the tops on the cups, nor did she wipe the cups down. When I requested napkins to wipe our cups, the manager did not fully place them in my hand. I had to catch them falling in the air on the way down. I then observed how she handled the Caucasian customers beverages afterwards with diligence & care. Therefore, feeling disgusted with the manager's rude & disrespectful behavior, I requested a refund for my order. She asked what was the reason for the request & I stated that I did not appreciate how she handled the situation & the lack of customer service. She indicated, "it was a simple mistake." Clearly that was not the case because of my observation with the white customers. She then proceeded to state that she had to get other customers food - again, I observed her the entire time. I then stated that when I patronize an establishment, I expect to receive a certain level of customer service. The manager's comment, "I'm sorry you feel that way." It took everything in me to not respond to her rudeness & disrespect. At that point, there was nothing else to talk about, just wanted her to process my refund. As she was handing me the receipt for the refund, she made sure to tell me, "If you have any other questions, I'm the manager," in a very proud, haughty & antagonistic way. I did not respond to her attempt of intimidation to provoke me to anger, I just walked off to keep the peace.

I would say that from my experience with this place, it would be easy for me to draw my own conclusions for the treatment, the lack of respect & customer service. As a person of color, I saw how she handled the white customers. It's not hard to read in-between the racial lines. It's clear that the manager at the Gibson Hall Market location has issues & should not be in a position of leadership whatsoever!

I will NEVER patronize this place & I would highly caution others to...

I found this place in the Explore Cabarrus visitors guide. For me, it was just okay - average at best. Ordering was easy and getting our food was pretty quick. I got the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and mac & cheese. The sandwich had way too much coleslaw on it that it made the bread soggy and the sandwich just fell apart. The barbeque options to put on it were good though. And, the baked beans were pretty good. However, the mac & cheese could really use a revamping. It just did not do it for me. It was very dry, hard cheese sitting on top, and not much flavor. I wish I'd gotten the sweet potato fries instead. My husband had one of the burgers and fries and he was not impressed at all. He actually seemed pretty disappointed. To make matters worse, once we got home he didn't feel good and had a few runs to the bathroom. He was fine before we went. I doubt we'd be back to try it again as it just wasn't a place...
