Royal dragon — Restaurant in Concord

5 years ago I would have given this place 5 stars. Unfortunately, these days they’re using different inferior ingredients and it shows. You can visibly see that they’re using different chicken in both the sweet and sour and sesame chicken. The rice is different, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon. None of which are enjoyable as they used to be. Chickens chewy, rangoons soggy, pork in fried rice is chewy and the egg roll was meh. But the sweet and sour sauce was as good as it’s always been. I don’t see the same people working there anymore so it’s possible management changed and think they know better than what worked before.

This recent experience I ordered sesame chicken and crab rangoon for delivery. It was luke warm when I received it. I called to tell them and also told them that their food wasn’t as good as it used to be (in a nice way) and the woman hung up on me. I called back and she said she would call me back and hung up abruptly. She called me back and said she would send me another order and I said no thank you(nicely). She hung up on me.

I’ve given them multiple chances because I understand that mistakes are made from time to time. This will be the last time. It’s sad to write this review because I knew the people who worked there before. I went to high school with one of the guys. Step up your game...

Imagine you're sitting in a room and your stomach starts growling. You think " Wow! Im Hungry! Some Chinese honey wings would quench my hunger or whatever the saying is. You say" Hey Siri, find Chinese near me" Siri finds a million lousy Chinese restaraunts in your area. So you search and read a million different lousy reviews. Yet you came upon my review telling you that " Royal Dragon has the best wings inNC. " They are not messy, the golden godly honey sauce is light and sweet. The chicken is cooked just right not too, crunchy not too slimy just right man like Goldilocks when she found them beds and pooridge. So what im saying is, come up in here and get them damn wings boy! I truly believe they use real honey its godly. Get shrimp fried rice too cooked to perfection. its GOLD bruv Go get you sum bruv! You walk in the building they play a little theme song jingle changes based on who you are. You get welcoming smiles and might see a little Asian girl come out the back and wave at you. ( again depending who yu are) The lady takes your order, they take google/apple pay. Food comes out in literally 8:45 secs. I timed it bruv. You get home no matter how far you live. I drive back to charlotte which is a 15 min drive and when I get home to eat food....Box still got steam coming off of...

I’m new to the area and looking for a good Chinese restaurant, this isn’t it. Ordered a General Tso combination with pork fried rice, egg roll and a pint of BBQ spare ribs.

The egg roll was the worst I’ve ever seen. Smaller than anywhere I’ve gone before, which I would accept if it was at least good, but it wasn’t. The pork fried rice was fair, but not what I’d call good. The General Tso’s chicken was the biggest disappointment, I judge places on this dish alone since it’s my favorite. The chicken was too small and too thickly breaded, making it like you were mostly eating breading, and there was no real sauce to speak of as it was absorbed by the breading leaving it tasting dry, which this dish shouldn’t be. I would say the BBQ spare ribs were the best part, they were done better than I’ve seen in a lot of places.

The taking of the order went well, but when picking up, there was only one person behind the counter and they were also answering phones, and gave priority to the callers, so it took a while to get my food as it sat their getting cold and I waited close to 15 minutes just the get the food I’d already waited 15 minutes to be ready. I recommend they get a second person behind the counter. By the time I left there were at least 5 people behind me waiting.
