Franco's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Conneaut

Don't know if they were just having a bad night or what. We are passing through for the night, saw the reviews on here and it looked great. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience. We arrived and 2 parties were sitting and waiting for their food. We ordered a taco pizza and cheese sticks. We asked specifically how the cheese sticks were made, whether they were breaded or just fried(she is picky when it comes to the cheese sticks and only orders them when they are breaded not fried). We were told that they're baked not fried. We sat there for about an hour, before being told that the pizza was in the oven. 35 mins later we received our food. The staff were always polite and friendly and the food was hot. Once we tried everything, we were disappointed. The cheese sticks were not breaded. They were either fried straight out, or fried and then baked. We started to eat one and threw the remainder out. The pizza crust was beautifully cooked but the pizza was lackluster. It did have a taco taste but it wasn't great tasting. There again, we ate a couple pieces and threw the remainder away. All in all a poor experience. Had we been told that there was going to be a long wait, we would have gone and done other things. We would have gladly returned to pick the food up. Not being told there was that much of a wait time was ridiculous. Add that on top of the delivery driver complaining about the things going on in the kitchen to the patrons, really put us off to returning the next time we're in town. It was a sad experience for such a supposedly great place. If you need a pic of the cheese sticks you can walk 1/2 mile down the road and they're in the middle...

As we know, growing up in towns where pizza joints are common place, like one every three blocks or one or two in a railroad-Lake Erie village like Conneaut, Ohio...your favorite pizza is the one you grew up eating. Here, I got a large with extra cheese, a side salad, a steak hoagie with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo and a sprite. I had not eaten all day. Got told there was no mayonnaise or lettuce available. Bummer! And the place was super hot inside, while it was raining "cats and dawgs" outside. Dealt with the heat, ordered a soft drink. No Coca-Cola. Salad came. Pizza finally came. Ate half of that. Hoagie came got that and split. Get some floor fans, at least. Nice overall customer...
