tl;dr: RUN! Run, Forrest, run! You won't be getting that box of chocolates here, or anything else for that matter. Do not make the same mistake we made to ignore the 1-star reviews.
Our Experience: I saw the recent negative reviews and said to myself "They mostly have good reviews, maybe it's just a rough patch. Mistakes happen. Give them a chance and they'll make it right and bounce back." I was wrong.
We ordered and paid for our son's birthday cake well in advance. We made it clear his birthday party starts at 2pm and we need the cake by then. She agreed. "Absolutely! No problem" she said.
On the day of the party, we messaged her one hour before start time asking if we can come pick up the cake. "What cake? OMGosh I forgot. excuses excuses blablablahh. I'll make it right now." She hadn't even started yet. We asked if it will be ready for pickup within a couple of hours? No response. A couple of hours later we asked if we can pick up a partially made cake (at least our son will have a cake and blow a candle in his photos to remember his 1st birthday). Still no response. When the party was over we told her we don't want the cake anymore now we just want a refund, even partial. Again, no response.
At 6:30PM, well after the party was over, she texted saying she doesn't do refunds at all... and the cake will be ready in an hour. Unbelievable!
The Pros: Communicates well prior to ordering, before you pay.
The Cons: You won't get your cake. At least not on time. No refunds. No apologies. No remorse. No exceptions. Impossible to get your money back. Contrary to what it says in the "About" section, she does not accept credit/debit cards or even PayPal. Only Zelle and Venmo. While this may seem convenient, it is impossible to dispute the charges and get your money back (like you can with CC or PayPal) unless she willingly refunds it, which she won't. This particular choice of payment options is very popular among scammers. Jusst saying. Not registered to do business in Texas. No food permit/license. No food safety and health inspections. Are the utensils and prep area cleaned and maintained properly? Are the ingredients expired? Is it really vegan/gluten-free? Who knows? Just put your hands together, bow your head, and pray that whatever comes out of that kitchen in Apartment 70 (if anything) is safe for you and...
Read moreI was looking for a cake for my elderly motherâs Nurses Honor Guard ceremony and decided based on the reviews to use Fork It. I always try & use small businesses. The cake was ordered on Nov 5 for pickup on Nov 10. I live about 2 hours from Conroe and confirmed with her that I could pick up at 2:30 the day of the ceremony on my way in. She charged me $72 for the cake and I paid 1/2 when I ordered. I had asked if she was able to do something with a nurses cap & she confirmed she could. On Nov 10 about 12:46 I let her know we were leaving the house & headed to Conroe. I started getting a feeling something wasnât right when she responded âitâs not 2:30 yet, the cake is nowhere close to being doneâ but I blew it off that she was just finishing up the decorating part. I reminded her that I lived out away and that we would be there about 2:30 as planned. Upon arrival she told me that she needed to put the cake in a box and that she would bring it out to the car. We waited about 10 minutes and she never showed and since my momâs ceremony started at 3 I went back to her door and she gave me this cake that is very obvious she just threw together. We couldnât even serve it for the ceremony. Nobody would pay $72 for this cake. In my opinion this was last minute and when I told her we were headed that way it was probably still in the oven. I wished she would have just told me she didnât have time or something came up, life happens and honesty is always the best policy. At least I could have gone by the store and bought a cake for my mom. Instead I showed up with this. When I told her how horrible it looked she asked me what was wrong with it and that is should have tasted good AND she still wanted the full amount for the cake....
Read moreSCAMMER ALERT!!!đ¨ BE WARE!!!! I am extremely disappointed and heartbroken. I trusted Chelse to deliver the cakes for my son's first birthday, a day we had been looking forward to and planning for months. Not only were the cakes not made on time, but they werenât received at all. This completely ruined the celebration, as we had nothing for our guests or for the special moment we wanted to share with our son.
To make matters worse, she has refused to refund me despite failing to provide what I paid for. I trusted her with such an important event, and she not only let us down but added insult to injury by keeping the money. This wasnât just about a cake â it was about memories we can never get back.
I would never recommend this vendor to anyone. They ruined a once-in-a-lifetime event for my family, and I am beyond devastated. Save yourself the heartache and find someone reliable. A good business should be accountable. You cannot offer to give me a cake after the event is over and all my guests are gone. So...
