Upon first approach, I was guided by my nose. I sniffed this place out from a mile away. When I got to the line, I quickly noticed the high prices. I’m sure this is influenced by the DC area or the Smithsonian museum. A bottle of water was $4 vs $2 for a can of Pepsi. That’s a bit overpriced but that’s my own opinion. I ordered chicken and fries for the kids and a pulled chicken sandwich. The sandwich was actually pretty good but it could have come with fries for the $14 it cost. The chicken tenders and fries were $10.50 and there were 5 tenders and 10 French fries. All jokes aside, there weren’t a lot of fries on that platter. I also went up and asked for ketchup and hot sauce. The lady taking my order made a very snarky remark and said, “ we don’t have catsup, we only have ketchup”. She didn’t even catch the hot sauce! This whole interaction would have been much more pleasant if they weren’t blasting music out from the two speakers right next to the window. I’m all about having fun and setting the mood but when you have to constantly lower the music to listen to what your customer has to say, that’s probably because the volume is set at an inappropriate level. Good music but too loud for an ordering window.
I’m not trying to knock this place because the food was actually pretty good. I probably wouldn’t pay the prices to come back but I’m...
Read moreTo the lady who took my order yesterday (4/16/23) at the national zoo, shout out to you for embarrassing/humiliating me in front of your customers and for telling your customers of what you thought I did. I did not fall in line there to be interrogated and humiliated in front of a lot of people. I only needed an order of French fries for my son. I waited patiently there. I was not complaining. I even said hello to you before you stepped out of the order window and hid. Your coworker had to remind you that there are people waiting in line.
But what did you do to me? You showed your face and told me proudly that I cut the line. I DID NOT CUT the line. I went to the entrance of your line first (before the people in front of me came in the line) I had to check your menu first before I fell in the line behind this two ladies. I did not know that they were a group or that her husband was behind me. if I knew, I would gladly let them go first. Besides, The lady even ordered her husband a bottled of water.
The embarrassment that you brought to me yesterday was not equal to the French fries you served me. My son/family were not hungry. They were patiently waiting too in front of your truck. I was not in hurry. I was not hungry. so why would I cut the line? and Why did you have to humiliate me for an order of...
Read moreRan into this company while at the Smithsonian Zoo. Line was short so I gave a look at their menu. $15 for a sandwich and then another $4 for a side. $3 for a 12 oz. can of soda. Yikes - for food truck fare? Get out of here.
Ordered the chicken tenders and fries since it was slightly less at $12.50. As someone else pointed out, this amounted to 5 chicken fingers and 12 fries. The food was edible, but absolutely terrible value.
The person taking orders was also extremely impatient and rude, opening with "what do you want?". She frequently shut the window with a few people waiting and disappeared in the truck.
Cons - Extremely expensive, small portions, rude service, edible if mediocre food. Pros - Short line due all of the above issues?
Would not recommend this establishment unless you are desperate for food before...
