until this past week especially today this was my favorite place .....im not so sure Im ever coming back. Granted the issue that I was having was refunded but it was not fully refunded as it should have been and how I was told I would be. I spent 225. on a custom wedding cake...all I wanted was simple bananas added to the cake...first I had to go back and forth through email which ended in a rabbit hole of misunderstandings. I was ready to walk away but eventually i was able to get what I needed. I ordered a cake online...sent a special request and then called to confirm if it could even be done immediately. The girl said yes...sent me a link to pay for the additional request which i promptly did and got a confirmation. The next day I get a call that stated I needed to pay for the special request which I already did. Called them back and told them that I had already paid and the girl was like ..oh ok it hasnt come through but it will...I asked if she was sure because I didnt want any mess ups at my wedding luncheon reception...told her I can send receipt she assured it would all be fine...well it wasnt fine...the damned bananas were not in the cake. I called right away after cutting it while still at the reception, and got a lady who seemed willing to want to help me out....i sent her the photos of the cake and she first asked to make a cake with bananas now as a remedy which I declined as the reception was almost over and everyone would be flying back home in 2 days not like we can have the reception over again...she then graciously offered to refund half of the cost which was fine because although its not what I ordered or wanted the cake was still good, which wasnt a surprise as freeds is an amazing bakery. So when she said ill refund 100. i informed her that was not half...and that i paid 225 which then she proceeds to tell me shes only seeing 199. and that the 26.00 was part of that total which was false. i told her the cake was 199. and the additional was 26.00 ...she then proceeds to tell me well normally we'd only refund the cost of the lost bananas.....at that point I got pissed off....you mean to tell me that you guys screwed this up and the attitude is that I should be lucky that Im getting 100.00 back because normally you'd only pay for the bananas ...when this is not what I ordered ...so after many other unpleasantries from my end she offered to process a full refund and apologized. I was ok with that of course and wasn't even going to leave this review because although I didn't get what I ordered how could anyone be mad at 100% refund? Well I should have known that this place could make this occur. I get home and I see the full refund of the 199. however no refund for the 26.00 that caused this whole headache in the first place...at this point Im tired of talking and Im tired of a simple cake special order that only asked for extra banana turning into this much of a frickin nightmare...all I wanted was a wedding cake the way I ordered it fresh strawberries fresh bananas and custard in the center. I had enough and I had to file a chargeback to get the 26.00. So although this is the best tasting bakery Ive experienced on the west coast Im never gonna come back again or Ill just stick the the occasional slices of cake because there were no mixups and...
Read moreFreed's Bakery made my sister’s wedding elopement in Las Vegas extra special with a stunning and delicious custom cake! Planning from California, I relied heavily on their website, which was incredibly informative and helped me narrow down exactly what I wanted.
I had a few additional questions, so I filled out their online form, and to my surprise, I received a detailed and helpful response the very next morning from Janie B. She was fantastic—kind, professional, and super accommodating, which made the entire process so smooth.
Since we had a dinner reservation at a restaurant, I requested delivery directly to them, and they handled it flawlessly. This took so much stress off my shoulders, as I didn’t have to worry about coordinating cake pick-up on the big day. My only small suggestion for improvement would be to provide a confirmation once the cake is delivered. The delivery window was from 12–4 PM, and our reservation was at 5 PM, so I didn’t know for sure that the cake had arrived until we showed up at the restaurant. Not a huge issue, but it would have been nice for peace of mind.
As for the cake itself—WOW! We chose the 8" Cherry Hearts design with all white frosting, with Vanilla Cake, Bavarian Cream, and Strawberry Purée filling, and it was a showstopper. It was not only beautiful but also absolutely delicious.
Overall, Freed’s Bakery exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend them for any special occasion. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and incredible cakes truly...
Read moreIt was absolutely awful. My husband just put up a review and I second the motion. As we travel all over the country, we are always looking for the best bakeries, restaurants, etc. He insisted we go to Freed’s for my dad’s birthday cake and I was very reluctant because honestly, we love Costco cakes and for the price you can’t beat it. But he said, ‘this says it’s the best bakery in Vegas and my father-in-law is worth the price.’ And I was like, ‘honestly, I’d rather use the extra $35 and put it towards his birthday gift card.’ But he insisted. As we returned from Disneyland, we stopped to pick up the surprise birthday cake. My dad was excited since he said he always wanted to try a cake from Freed’s. After dinner, we all gathered around the table and sang happy birthday to my dad. Each of us had a small slice of cake and immediately, we were all disgusted. The cake had no flavor and the frosting tasted like candle wax. Buttercream frosting is usually creamy and luscious but instead this was solid and tasted like wax. Even my 7 year old who loves sweets, took one bite and spit it out. We all took some bites just to be nice but in the end, we ended up throwing out a lot of our cake slices. I felt horrible since it was such a let down and I really wanted to take it back since we hardly ate the cake and it will be thrown away. Looks like we will be going to Costco in the morning for a cake for my dad. Thanks for the let down Freed’s. We will not be back and honestly, I don’t know what all...
