Good Service, Average Food

Review for Pegs Glorified Ham n Eggs, 9905 S Eastern Ave #100, Las Vegas, NV 89183, about 11am on Saturday, May 21, 2022. This little restaurant is tucked away in the Sunset Station parking lot toward the west end near the street. Open only for breakfast and lunch. Sorry, but only 3 (three) stars, two for the food, and an extra star for the good service. It was a little busy when we went in, but the service was very good, and we were seated and had our drinks within minutes. It’s a small restaurant, seats maybe 100+ people in booths and tables. Kudos for full silverware and condiments on the table, even individually wrapped butters. The kitchen is in full view, but a bit hard to see from our table. There was also a small outside seating area with umbrella partially shaded tables for 2-4 people. My son ordered the Enchilada Omelette, house-made spicy chicken w/ crispy tortilla strips & jack, topped w/ ranchero sauce, sour cream & smashed avocado. I ordered a favorite of mine, a BLT sandwich bacon with lettuce and mayo on toasted sour dough with a side of fries and ranch dip. Plus, a Pepsi and coffee to drink. The coffee was a fresh, medium roast, little bitter, no hazelnut. The soda had an average amount of syrup. Service was good but the food was mediocre. It had the taste of small casino café food. Just bland to poor in taste. My son’s Enchilada Omelette plate was a nice presentation of poor food, huge and pretty, but had the taste of canned sauce. The beans were good, and the chicken was okay, then the slaw was just awful. Anyone can make good slaw. This slaw tasted like straight weakened vinegar with some gawd-awful spice. My fries were good, crunchy on the outside, but the ranch dip was very runny, ehh, wouldn’t even stick to the fries! The bread on the BLT was barely warmed instead of toasted, and very heavy on the lettuce. I mean there was enough lettuce to make the sandwich twice it’s regular size, with a tiny layer of bacon, and mayo smeared in the middle but dry around the edges. The bacon was cooked so hard I could not bite through part of it and it pulled the sandwich apart with each bite. I didn’t eat hardly any of it and tried to fill up a bit on fries before we left. My son didn’t want to take home the rest of his either, which is rare. The food was overpriced for mediocre! So the service receives 5 (five) stars, but the food gets only 2 stars. Great service without the good food is a bad combination. We...

Soooo I am literally in the restaurant right now, and this place is absolutely fantastic let me start with that first and foremost, the staff is INCREDIBLE, it’s like they hand picked the friendliest staff I have ever met in the service industry!!!

So the reason I feel compelled to write this review today is because something happened right now in the restaurant that shows JUST HOW WHOLESOME AND AMAZING THIS BUSINESS IS.

Okay so I’m going to paint a picture for you, For the past 20 or so minutes there has been a very loud and very large couple and their daughter in the restaurant that has been complaining about the price of their meals together, it totaled out to be about $50, they have been being very rude and very mean to the staff as well as the manager who explained extremely nicely the computation for the total. (like extremely nicely, I would have spit in the woman’s face for the attitude she had with the servers and I consider myself a patient man) I mean they ordered like 4/5 meals and tax like of course it’ll be $50 at a really nice restaurant like Dafuc this look like Waffle House? (Don’t get me wrong I love me some Waffle House, but the service here alone is worth the money not to mention the huuuge portions)

Anyways, so even after dealing with these people and having them LITERALLY say “sir the food was fantastic but you have to agree the price is ridiculous” over and over for like half an hour, guess what they do, they just up and publicly leave in a show of rebellion of some sort because who knows why, I hear the manager talk to the staff and say “we can’t change their hearts we can only be as kind as possible” or some sort of philosophical awesomeness similar to that, and they just didn’t even attempt to stop them they just turned the other cheek like a BOSS.

The couple said they’d never come back and that pegs lost their business and I’m just writing this to say they may have lost theirs but I’m going to mention PEGs to EEEVERYONE I know now so if you’re reading this Mr and Mrs unappreciative then you failed at whatever display that was...

Thank you pegs for being an awesome, loving, and wholesome, business that provides the most delicious breakfast food I have had...

I read good reviews about this place so my family and I decided to try it for ourselves. Wish I had the experience that so many others had, my experience was not good. We were brought the wrong tables orders, we told the waiter before he placed the dishes down, he asked if we were sure? ( at this point I was ready to walk out but the kids were hungry ) the waiter walked away but then came back with the same dishes and asked if we wanted the plates until our food was ready. I told the waiter that maybe the customers that ordered the food would like to have it while it's still hot. I was told that the dishes were for us to eat while they cooked our orders that would take 15 minutes or longer because our orders were not put in. The people at the table next to us said they've been here numerous times and have not had any problems. I asked if he was new there? They said no. Now I'm just hoping the food is good but when they finally brought out our dishes they eggs were cooked wrong on 2 of the 4 plates. I think what made me want to write this review was when the waiter asked " are you sure? I coach multiple kids sports teams so I have a lot patience and understanding but this visit was by far the worst experience I can remember. Finally the food is here! Being from Hawaii you know I ordered the loco moco, very bland, I think the burger patty is not fresh and might be frozen and thawed before cooked to order. Numerous times I had to flag down and even ask other tables waiters/waitresses if we could get refills on our drinks. My family got 1 drink refilled during the time we received our food, even the table next to us was experiencing the poor service because they too could not get there coffee or soft drinks refilled. I will NEVER be back to this restaurant and I hope that I'm not asked by the 100s of parents that I see every day if I would recommend this place. I think we all know the...

First timers here @ Pegs. I've had it bookmarked to try for awhile but never made it out. My husband had a day off so we decided to have some breakfast before doing some christmas shopping. We arrived pretty early in the morning around 9am and there were a fee tables occupied. The seating are large booths as well as scattered tables so would work well for larger parties as well. Upon looking over the menu the server came over who was pleasantly nice and asked for our beverage order and brought those rather quickly. On the menu they have a local section for us hawaiians which was a nice touch. They serve macaroni salad with their Hawaiian breakfast plate which is kinda odd we don't typically have macaroni salad at breakfast time but rather with plate lunches. Every mainlander seemed to think adding macaroni salad makes it hawaiian. Anywho my husband ordered that hawaiian breakfast plate Portuguese sausage and spam with eggs and rice, he opted for no salad. I went with a mexican twist and ordered the Huevos Rancheros it came on a huge skillet type of plating it had pinto beans, eggs, red sauce , hash browns and 2 other items which i called "plate fillers" to fill the empty space on the plate. One was a slaw and the other was similar to a succatash. Overall service was excellent and food was okay. For the price I felt like it was a tad overpriced $31 with 2 coffees. Ill have to maybe try the waffles next time.
