Being from Chicago I was excited to find out that there was an authentic Chicago restaurant here in Vegas that served authentic Chicago-style food. I called for an order but the delivery guy was gone so I had to go pick up the food, no problem. I walked in the place was clean, Chicago stuff everywhere which makes you feel like you are in Chicago. I wasn't sure if the Owner/manager was surly because of him being curt when talking to him about Chicago he was very curt. I got my order, went home and tried the Italian beef. It was cold, flavorless, and the beef smelled old. It was dipped like I like, but not authentic au jus. The hot dog was on point! When waiting for my food I was speaking with another fellow Chicagoan who raved about the pizza, so I thought I would try that next time. I ordered the pizza, that was much better, so I thought well at least they redeemed themselves with that order. The only problem I had was during the delivery the guy had my food sitting on the ground and was holding the two liters in his hand and pulled my food out of the bag on the dirty ground. I saw that he was older so I didn't say anything about it. He was quite friendly.
I placed another order, and this time ordered the pizza again, a 16 inch polish, and a pizza puff, and a Diet Coke. The order was about one and a half hours later, after calling to inquire about the order, Anna told me that it was on it's way. This time the same guy showed up, placed my food on the ground again, pulled it out of his bag, and handed my a two liter of Coke instead of what I ordered. The pizza was fine, the pizza puff was dry and soggy at the same time if that makes sense, like a old card board hot pocket. And the Polish sausage was so disgusting that I almost puked upon trying it. It immediately smelled of rotten meat. The onions were black, and old. I wonder how old do onions need to sit to turn that color. Only thing fresh on the polish was the peppers hidden down inside. So I had to get up and drive to the restaurant. When I came in I was greeted by a girl behind the counter and when I told her what happened she summoned the cook who took a bite of the polish and told me that he thought it tasted fine, and since he wasn't from Chicago he couldn't tell how it supposed to taste. They gave me two smaller polish instead of trying the other one again. I was looked at as if I wanted free food, when she offered me the free 2 liter of Diet Coke I declined because I had opened the Coke at home already, but I wanted something done about the food. After all of the employees looked at the food, and made it seem as if I was being an jerk for complaining about the food, I decided to look at the other reviews before I wrote one. I see this is typical behavior from a prideful group of people who should just apologize and fix the issue. Here is a picture of the sandwich, please tell me if this is fresh. I was willing to give them a try just to support people from home who made it out of the city and is trying to do something well, but this food does not represent the great food in Chicago!! Authentic menu, but not...

Today, they send me an email for a hot dog special at $2.95. So, we go.
Took the wife there before work and they would only allow us to order one special. Who does that?
The email said nothing about one per family, per visit. Simply put, these people sucked us in. Then, they pretend as if we're the only ones who asked for two hotdogs at the special price. In fact, people order more than one hotdog all day long, right? Who does that?
Ordered a slice of deep dish pizza today (because they refused to give us a second lunch special) and the pizza was so dry and old - must have been prepared hours prior. The tomato on top was completely dried out and the pepperoni was stiff. They put it right in front of us, no problem. No apologies. Was obvious as hell that the pizza was tired. Who does that with a straight face?
On a previous visit, we wanted to use a Groupon coupon. We ordered a pizza ahead and when we arrived, we were told that we needed to tell them about the Groupon on the phone, when we ordered. Who does that?
Always lots of attitude from these guys. They act as if they're doing you a favor when they bring the food out to your table. I've never been thanked for stopping by or had an owner come out and ask how the food is.
Today, the owner is out front talking to a customer - the owner is liberally dropping f-bombs during the conversation right in front of the customers.
I also do not trust people who do not give receipts. You won't get one here.
On another previous visit, just two days ago, they shorted me an order of fries. I went back up to the register and since they did not give me a receipt, they had to screw around behind the desk and search if indeed I was telling them the truth. As if I'm trying to beat them out of a small order of fries on a $35 order. They decided that I did not order the fries. Not kidding. Meanwhile, the food I had ordered gets cold while I try and get what I paid for. Who would mess with a customer over a lousy order of fries?
Pro Tip: If you want a better Chicago style pizza, go down the road to Rosati's. The ingredients at Rosati's are of higher quality and the pizza is much heavier. It seems as if Windy City Pizza works hard to skimp on the toppings, especially sausage. I need a magnifying glass to see the sausage.I will never order another sausage pizza, or any kind of full pizza from this store.
Value comparison with Famous Al's Beef in Chicago.
Al's beef sandwich $4.79 (Chicago price} Al's beef on Sahara Ave, Las Vegas $6.19 Windy City Pizza beef sandwich $7.50
Al's hot dog with fries $4.49 Windy City hot dog and fries $5.00
Although I enjoy the food, I will give them the lowest mark due to them going out of the way...
Read moreMy family and I came in and spent over a $100.00. When they delivered our food it was discovered they messed up my daughter's beef sandwich(forgetting to put cheese on it.) My daughter asked if it had cheese on it when delivered and they said it did. When she opened it there was no cheese on it. She took it up to the counter to try and get it fixed and they stated they could not take the sandwich into the back and they would bring out cheese. When Dawn came out she had brought out two cups of shredded cold cheese. I told Dawn that this would be unacceptable due to the cheese not going to melt as it should. I asked her in a normal tone to make my daughter a fresh sandwich and she proceeded to be rude telling me not to yell at her and then told me not to be snotty when I corrected her. Dawn continued on to say that she could do nothing more for me and if they had taken it back they would have only dumped cold cheese on it. I insisted on a fresh sandwich. I asked Dawn for her name and she pointed towards her name tag and stated it's right there. I then asked for a phone number for someone to speak with and the store number was provided by a business card. I attempted to clarify if this was the number to the store or a manager/owner. She continued to be rude and stated she did not know before finally stating it was the number to the store and she could call in the morning to speak with someone. After the confrontation my daughter finally received a fresh sandwich with cheese on on it like she originally ordered. I found this unacceptable as we are frequent returning customers and my husband sometimes comes...
