Another Tuesday which means the opportunity to try a new Taco spot. After a visit to Ax Therapy my sister found this location and we decided to partake.
Upon walking in we were greeted by 3 welcoming smiles. The hostess staff was amazing and set a very upbeat vibe for me as a new patron of this establishment. The establishment was very clean. I’m talking clean floors, clean tables, and most of all, a clean entry area. You can tell that the staff works together to keep the place tidy.
We were seated immediately as the location is huge which is an added bonus. Our waiter, Alex, arrived to the table and greeted us with a smile and welcomed us to Zamas. This was our second “Welcome to Zamas” of the night so you know my Customer Service Radar was super HAPPY! After his welcome he made some drink recommendations and took our drink order. He listened and ensured to repeat our order back to us. Bonus points for Alex!
The menu provides an assortment of Mexican goodies. It was literally a page after page of ooh’s and aah’s. LoL! Trust me, it’s something for everyone.
Let’s talk Food:
Chips and Salsa- The chips taste homemade and are perfectly crisp and come with an amazing salsa. I would suggest asking for an extra salsa as it’s so good you will want to add it to everything. Spoiler alert, I used It for my appetizer and entree as well. LoL!
Appetizer- Pulled Chicken Empanada. Perfectly Golden. Super Meaty. Great portion. Not as seasoned as I would have liked, but not bland either.
Entree- Southern Chicken Tacos. Babeeeeeeeeee. The chicken inside these tacos are Southern Fried to Golden Perfection. The meat is moist and meaty like chicken should be and the chunks are fried to a perfect finish of a crispy outside and poultry perfection inside. Paired with the toppings, this dish is Taco Goodness Amplified. Yeah! I’m coming back for these.
Each Taco is filled with meat. There is no shortage of meat inside like most places and the presentation provides an added sense of satisfaction as the layers are placed perfectly for maximum bite satisfaction. Ummmmmm, Tacos!
Overall, this was an amazing experience and I would recommend anyone who likes Mexican to drop by when in the area. Our waiter checked on us during our stay at perfect intervals. Our cups were never empty and the table didn’t want for anything. A True representation of Customer Service. #YouveGottaGo

Read moreCompletely tone deaf! Went for dinner yesterday. We were showed to a high top in the bar area. Looking forward to a relaxing dinner after a tough work week. Placed our orders and drinks and were munching on chips when we heard a really loud pop. Sounded like a gunshot. Made me jump out of my skin and wanted to "hit the deck". Apparently, one of the hosts overinflated a balloon and it popped -- really loudly. Then, as we observed, while one was inflating new ones, the other two started using pens to pop balloons that had gone a little flat. Basically, all you're hearing is balloons popping non-stop. Not the least bit relaxing or calming. I guess they don't realize that NO ONE likes the sound of popping balloons. After they were done popping the old balloons, they started blowing up new ones that continued to burst and sounded like gunshots. I jumped every time one popped -- it's instinctual. At one time, a couple walked in while one of the hosts overinflates the balloon and it popped right in front of them and the couple jumped -- that should have been the clue to stop. Why are you doing that during dinner? I get that you may have nothing to do but when the balloons keep bursting, it's time to stop! In this day of mass shooting and people getting shot in public places, this is extremely tone deaf! Every time I heard a loud pop, I wanted to duck. Finally, having eaten only a quarter of our dinner, we realized it was just too nerve-wracking to eat there. We asked for to-go boxes, explained to our server and packed up our dinner. As we headed out, we stopped by the host stand to explain to them that it was very nerve-wracking to hear constant pops and that it can be PTSD-inducing for some and not the environment diners wants to be in. They didn't even apologize -- they just laughed at us. Management needs to train staff better. Realize what's going on around us in this day and age -- loud pops that sound like gunfire is scary. Blow your balloons up when diners are not in your restaurant -- if you can't do it without constantly...
Read moreHad a craving for Mexican food today and decided to try out a relatively new place in our old 'hood. We drove by earlier today and noticed the old sports bar in this old shopping center next to Sprayberry HS had closed and in its place a new Mexican restaurant opened. Knowing the history of this location let's just say our hopes weren't too high.
Walking up to the entrance we were greeted with a great patio space and pretty cool decor so score a point for atmosphere. Once inside the hostesses were welcoming and friendly and that's always a change to the usual East Cobb snobbery where most hostesses would rather be on their iPhones than seat you.
Once seated we were greeted by the most amazing server named Cesar. He was both gracious and attentive without being intrusive. Another score for Zama and another rarity for East Cobb. Cesar had some amazing recommendations based upon our tastes and the table side guacamole rivaled the experience in Mexico City.
Pricing is on par with places like Laredo's and South of the Border but the atmosphere, food, and service are light years better than anything those places could dream of. You can tell that this total experience was driven by management and not in a negative way. Management stopped by not once, but twice and by two different managers just to check on us and to see if there was anything we needed.
Once again, I wish Zama nothing but success in this seemingly cursed location and they offer 2 things that are lacking in this area. Those would be great food at a reasonable price and service beyond anything their rivals could dream of offering.
So stop in, ask for Cesar. You won't regret it! Thank you to Adrian and Shanelle as well for making sure our experience was nothing...
