In town visiting for my birthday weekend. Stopped here last night. Hostess was very nice and warm to us.
We'd been driving all day so we just wanted a casual night. We sat at the bar. There was one other very friendly couple at the bar and a single woman in the other end. The bartender came right over to take our drink order.
No double IPAs. 😕
So my boyfriend ordered a regular IPA. I don't like regular IPAs so I asked her to give me a few more minutes to decide on a drink.
I decided to try, I think it was called a Moose Blue? I can't remember. She hadn't come back to check on my drink order so we started looking over the menu for what to eat.
My boyfriend had been here before for work and remembered liking their buffalo burger.
I decided on an "build your own" burger: Bleu cheese and bacon.
Both of us wanted to replace regular fries for sweet potato fries.
Now we're doubly ready to order.
Despite the other couple leaving and a virtually empty bar, the bartender, who kept going in and out from behind the bar never even looked our way again.
She was serving tabletops too so we tried to be patient, but when it looked like now she's just cleaning/replacing inventory and still not a glance our way, that's when I started getting annoyed.
Finally I see her and the bar back just conversing behind the bar with her back to me, I'd had enough. I tried the "excuse me" approach and they just kept talking over me.
Finally I just started waving my arms like a crazy person until the bar back finally acknowledged our existence and sent the bartender over.
We ordered. I FINALLY got a drink - which came quickly after ordering.
A short time later our food came. My burger had no blue cheese on it. My boyfriend's has regular fries. 🙄
We tell the bar back who brought it right away and he apologizes and walks away, I guess to go correct it? He didn't say.
While he's gone, my boyfriend notes that the buffalo burger doesn't look the same as last time and he thinks this is just a regular burger.
We sit there a few more minutes wondering if we should tell the bartender the mistakes because we didn't me where the bar back went, then he comes back.
Brings me Bleu cheese salad dressing and my boyfriend's sweet potato fries.
I ask the bar back if that burger is, in fact, the buffalo burger - because let's be real here, clearly accuracy isn't their strong suit - and he assures me it is.
👌
We eat, food's pretty good, though my boyfriend says he's pretty sure it was a regular burger.
Yeah, I'm not from around here so I'm not likely to go back anyway, but if I'm ever up this way again, that's a no for me.
Too bad too because it was...
Read moreI’ll start with the pros… the staff is friendly and the place is clean. Unfortunately, they miss the mark with the actual food, which is probably the most average to mediocre food we’ve had in a very long time. We really can’t think of a single item that was worth eating. We started with wings as we had been craving some good, crispy buffalo wings. I guess what we got would pass as wings… flabby wings without even a hint of crispness. They were fatty and the sauce maybe had a hint of buffalo flavor but mostly it was just greasy, as though the kitchen staff has never been taught to drain fried foods before serving. The carrots/celery served with the wings were sopping wet, which didn’t help. Ah well, we had higher hopes for our meals, but we were clearly too optimistic as those were not better at all. We got the bbq bacon burger which wasn’t even half eaten because again, the bbq sauce felt and tasted like grease. We also got the bbq chicken bacon sandwich and all that was eaten was the chicken because- you guessed it- everything tasted like grease. Also, how is any restaurant worth its merit sending out burgers and chicken sandwiches on ungrilled buns? I can honestly say that the only enjoyable part of the meal was the pickle that came with the sandwiches.
I really don’t know how this place stays in business, but $80 for awful wings and sandwiches (most of which was thrown away) is infuriating. It says to me that the owners don’t care about putting out a quality product and just figure they can overcharge for garbage food because it’s a tourist area. Do yourself favor and don’t waste your money here - you’re better off...

Oh boy... I've been waiting to go here for several years now. I've always driven by, stopped in to try and get some food but the wait has been crazy. Today I finally had the chance to stop in with my family, sit down and get this food that everybody has talked so highly about. The atmosphere inside is is very warm and cabin like. We sat down, got our menus and ordered our food. Everything started off fairly well, we ordered some potato canoe appetizers that were decent at most but we didn't really mind. When our meals came we were kind of raising eyebrows. My food was very well presented and looked to be delicious, however my fiance's salmon was absolutely horrible. There was a piece of salmon completely drenched in sauce, a oven-baked potato not cut or anything just sitting on the plate and then a side dish with a few pieces of steamed broccoli. We both started eating our food and instantly realized how plain both of the dishes were. There was almost no flavor in any of the food, my dish was very thin and watery, and kind of just tasted like watery pesto. My fiances salmon and other food was also completely bland and had almost no taste at all. We also saw the food for the table next to us and it also look pretty uneventful.. We really tried to shrug it off but this is just totally unacceptable for a menu that has prices of a five-star restaurant. We paid over $70 for two entrees in an appetizer, we should have just went down the street to Applebee's.
After being completely and utterly disappointed, I can honestly say that we will never be...
